Do this for RE 2, RE 3, and CVX please
I never played any of the RE games. How close is this to the original ? They they just improve the visuals or is this a complete reboot ?

It added the concept of zombies coming back stronger later in the game if you don't headshot or dispose of the body by burning them. As well as adding "defensive items" that give you some ability to counter being grabbed by zombos. Changed a few scenes up, added better voice acting, etc. play this over the original unless you're just dying to hear some of the worst voice-acting ever in video games. (unless you're referring to the original REmake then this is literally the same as that)
This is just a port of the gamecube remake I think its very dodgy that Capcom isnt being clear about that, as nice as it will be to have the REmake on something other than the cube.
Even if it ends up running on my current setup like its set underwater like RE 4 HD, the $20 price tag is kind of surprising.
I don't care if it's just a port; REmake is one of my favorite games of all time, so having it on Steam is amazing. Starting the year off right.
Last time I heard news of this the transition from 4:3 to 16:9 was absolutely horrendous.
Wow, that soon? Not too long after my birthday either, nice. Capcom did a pretty good job with 4's port so I'm confident with REmake's. I still remember the day I bought my Gamecube and played this literally all night on release day. To anyone that hasn't played it and has at least a passing interest in the franchise, it is EASILY worth the $20 price tag and in my opinion is a textbook example of a proper remake. I'm also one of the weirdos that liked RE0 so I'm hoping good sales for this will prompt Capcom to port that as well.

Instead of actually switching to a higher aspect ratio or adding a vertical letterbox, it zooms the entire game in so you can't see the top or bottom side of the screen, unless the game pans up and down to fit the action. So basically their 16:9 is just a zoomed in game where you see less of the action compared to the gamecube version, that's pretty abysmal.
They better include this song:
