Looking for graphics card superior than my current one (ASUS HD8350)

Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for a graphics card that will allow me to play certain games at high FPS etc.
My PC is a prebuilt ASUS M11BB, the specs are as follows (pasted from Speccy);
Operating System
Windows 8 64-bit
CPU
AMD A8-5500
Trinity 32nm Technology
RAM
12.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz (11-11-12-28)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. M11BB (FM2 )
Graphics
Generic Non-PnP Monitor (1360x768@60Hz)
1024MB ATI ASUS HD8350 Series (ASUStek Computer Inc)
Storage
931GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 SATA Disk Device (SATA)
Optical Drives
ATAPI DVD A DH24ACSH SATA CdRom Device
Audio
AMD High Definition Audio Device
The problem is that while I can run games like Garry's Mod, Counter-Strike:GO, TF2 at a constant 80-90 FPS.. Other games I would like to play such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2/3 run at a very low fps, even on the lowest settings. Being able to run modern games on higher settings would be nice, too. The goal is to be able to record these games at a constant FPS of 60 for editing with Adobe After Effects.
As for my budget and location, I'm in the United States and I'm looking for something that will perform well for a low price. (About $150 and below?)
If you need any more information, just ask! Thanks!
Personally, I just went from a GT 220 to a GTX 650 Ti and have had phenomenal success with it. ArmA went from mid-low settings at 16 fps to Slightly-better-than-high settings at 30 which is enough for me to play on. The big difference was CoD4 going from 20 fps on low to well in excess of 60 on the highest settings.
The problem with that recommendation is it's about an extra $100 higher than your goal, but I'd say it's worth the small extra saving-up-for. I know one FP user recommended going with an AMD HD series, but I forget which off the top of my head now, sorry. I think it was still about $50 higher than your price-point.
Thanks.. I'll have to keep that in mind. Money isn't much of an issue, anyway.
For $150, your best bet would be to get a GTX 650 Ti Boost.
You have an APU now. Meaning the GPU is integrated into your A8-5500.
A 650TI would be a good upgrade but its a generation old by now.
If you can stretch to 179 you can stretch to AMD's new GPU line. (R9-270)

Its arguably the best card for price/performance ration on the market at the moment.

So would the R9-270 perform better than the 650 Ti? Sorry, I don't know much at all about this stuff.
Yes it would perform much better, especially if you overclock it, it will perform like a 270X

A 7850 beats the 650 ti boost. A 7870 beats that. The R9 270 is the updated version of the 7870. Here's a benchmark of the 7870 vs 650 ti boost that'll give you a general idea of the performance.
