I get frequent nosebleeds this time of year, and they always seem to last for at least 20 minutes, sometimes up to 45 or longer. Is there a trick to stopping them that I don't know about? I usually grab a bag of ice and a roll of toilet paper and just tilt my head back holding both to my nose looking like an idiot until it quiets down.
More iron in your diet, immediate plugging with tissue paper.
If it becomes a serious problem you can have the insides of your nose cauterized.
put tampons in your nose when your bleeding

Then film yourself sucking on them.

It's not really a serious problem, I just get them when the seasons change mostly, especially during spring. I've been considering getting cauterized but I've never really gotten around to it.

Maybe I will and post it in videos and flash movies and that kind of crap, and say you idiots gave me the idea :v:
Just FYI, never treat a nosebleed by leaning your head back, it can cause blood to flow into the esophagus and then all sorts of nasty ish can hapen. Best treatment is to keep your head above your heart and lean your head forward to help drain. A cold compress can help as well.

Shit :v: I've always done it this way, it seems to stop it better. It's not like I lean it all the way back, just more back a little bit so it doesn't gush out lol.
stop looking at cute anime girls
I get them just like you do, most of the time I just fold/roll up a tissue into a plug and stick it up my nose and carry on with my day. It works 99% of the time if you leave it in long enough. Just don't blow your nose or stick any fingers up there for a bit after and you should be fine.

I do the same exact thing sometimes if I am busy doing something when it hits, just roll up a plug and stick it in there to drip or hold for a few minutes until I am in a better position to continue with treating it.
Vitamin C also helps a lot for me, try it along with iron.
If you just leave the tissue in the area in your nose that the bleeding is coming from will scab, stopping the bleeding and allowing the skin to heal. From what I understand if you just let it flow its much harder for it to scab due to the large amount of blood constantly pouring out.
I hate nosebleeds man, after I got mugged last april, I had them constantly from trauma to my sinus structure. Had a hemorrhage out the nose too and passed out over the toilet thinking I was about to die, good times.
Anyhow, I don't know any quick remedies. Just put an ice pack to on the back of your head at the bottom of your brain stem and pinch your nose as high on the bridge as you can.
wear a gasmask, that way the blood stays in the mask and doesn't go everywhere
never blow your nose when stuffy/bleeding unless you must
it just makes the shit far worse
I sneezed during a nosebleed once. Without covering my nose. While using my computer. It looked like someone had been shot in front of my monitor.
Hold your nose shut and blow it, then the air may push the blood out through your eyes !

It's pretty cool that's all. No other suggestions.
