So, whats the difference between those two, other than price ofcause.
Well, from what I could see they're pretty much the same, the only thing I am not so sure about is if the cheaper one is modular, what do you need a 1000 watt psu for anyway? And I'm not sure if the cheaper one is 80+ certified either.
what do you need a 1000 watt psu for anyway?.
Having a cpu and 2xGTX380 overclocked(yes its a example, for now) will require that amount of powar I noticed the difference would be the model name/number: The first on is CMPSU-1000HX While the second one is CMPSU-1000HXEU Does anyone by any chance know what the difference will be, or what the EU does?
there is no difference thread answered, everyone can go now
Well for starters one's in £ and the other in $.

"The only difference between the regular HX1000 and the EU (Europe) version is type of power cable included with the unit, and the design of the packaging." Arh shoot. Now what is the difference between the regular and EU cables? This is frustrating >.<
I guarantee you you don't need that much power, you can get a much cheaper one.

1. You don't need a 1000W PSU. 2. Europe has a different power standard hence the different power cable, if you live in Europe buy the EU one. If you live anywhere else, buy the standard one. 3. Buy this instead.
Thats all very nice, but.. The corsair.com power supply calculator thingy says i will need a 950-1000w PSU if i want the build i got in mind to work proberbly. I'm from Denmark, and Newegg doesn't ship to here, sadly.

Even 2 5870s don't need 1000W. You can run them on 600-650W.
the 1000w was just so i could upgrade my computer on the way and keep the 1000 psu, instead of having a 650w one, and when its time for a upgrade, get a new psu.

I'm running 3 9800GTXes and an 8800GT for physX on a 750w. You'll be fine.
