I presume this'll allow things to be shown on both eyes.
it would be really cool if the screen covers both your eyes, until you get some virus which just spams flashy colours all the time :v:
The real killer apps will come around when glass gets huds than can fill the field of vision. A lot of the 'ifIhadglass' videos people made forgot that glass doesn't fill your whole vision but were cool ideas.

Yeah, it puts a projector behind the hinges and then uses special glass to let it reflect off of the lenses.
I'd feel much more comfortable wearing those than the current model. If I had a smart phone I'd be uncomfortable taking it out around my area because it's pretty low socio-economically and I also tend to hate showing off wealth as a general rule. Having the newest fanciest gadget hanging off my face would be a pretty weird experience. But if it was disguised, I think I could do it
Pretty sweet, but this is probably just gonna cause an even bigger outcry than the current model. Like it or not, it is, people are already freaking out over the current ones, imagine how upset they'd be at the prospect of them being nearly impossible to notice.

Yeah, I hate how glasses are completely impossible to take off. A few years back, I tried on a friend's pair, and I still can't get the fuckers off! They're not even the right perscription for me!

Optionally, just one. You know, for reasons.
That said I'm excited about all this new tech. Always wondered when the vision of the future (circa 1992) would arrive. Turns out a lot sooner than I figured it actually would. Minus hoverboards. Those still seem a ways off yet. :(

The reason the old visions of the future are quite off is because we have an information revolution rather than a power revolution.
I don't get why people are so against the idea of wearing a device that doesn't look like a pair of sunglasses.
how will people with prescription glasses wear this?

I agree, people will get used to it over time. I bet this was exactly the same with the first wrist watch or any other accessory that probably cost a lot when it first came out
They should build some sort of GPS into it, then when you're driving it could give you directions and shit, maybe a HUD telling you your speed also.
Is it sad the first thing I thought of was Norman Jayden :v:

It can get that from your phone. There's no reason to have Google Glass if you don't have a smartphone on you as well

A lot of cars already have that. They're called satnavs.
Damn, those lenses look like they're going to be hella expensive to manufacture. I really want to see how this turns out.

Because I don't really want people to know I have something expensive attached to my face, cash, phones, etc. can go in your pocket, can't really do the same with this.

a lot of phones already have all of the features of the Glass devices.
they're called smartphones.

pretty sure Glass has GPS built into it, it was shown in one of the first videos of it
Now I can take pictures in public discreetly!
Though I do like the idea of a HUD. I'm just hoping it doesn't look really awkward/weird (kind of like the first iteration).
A HUD for what? I can't imagine anything you could put there besides a map maybe.

Health- and ammo-counter, objective markers, gamertags.

Google Glass(es): Munition level monitoring activated.
I hope they set it up so I can get some sick killcams. :v: Kidding.

I think I once saw an ammo-counter app for iPhone, actually. There's a balistic calculator, I know. The ammo counter was like, you mounted it on your rifle's rails via a special cover, put into the app how much ammo is in each magazine, then the recoil of the rifle activated the motion thingy so each kick put it one number down. Then every time you reloaded, you pressed the screen to reset it. Dunno if it added +1 on a non-empty reload.
Honestly I thought this was where they were going to begin with.
Make a Google glass virus that puts goatse on the screen at a random time
