• Is it possible to poison bullets?

I mean, wouldn't so many hit operations be a lot easier if they just used a low velocity gun and just poisoned the bullets so that the poison does the work? Just something I was wondering, would be cool to see what you guys think.
the bullet would travel through the person to fast :\ even with low velocity bullet's, that's fucking stupid
Bullets kill quicker than poison. All it would do would make wounds poisonous and be more likely to be fatal but that's not really necessary.
Yes, it's possible, but expensive and pointless As the previous poster said, bullets kill faster than poison
Have the poison inside the tip of the bullet. The impact would shatter the tip, having the poison enter the blood stream. (The bullet would penetrate, and at the same time, the tip would smash) :science:

I just asked if it was POSSIBLE, not if it was practical Seem to have gotten my answer though.
Metal doesnt shatter
Who said the tip had to be metal?
Metal doesnt shatter
Lead does, or atleast it looks like it shatters.
Well yeah you just put poison on the tip of the bullet and fire. But it doesn't do jack shit.
It is possible, if you are using airsoft. I mean, some american important person was killed with an umbrella that had a hidden airsoft gun in it. The bullet was poisoned. It didn't do much damage, but then the poison got in the blood and the person died.
Who said the tip had to be metal?
They could make the tip out of glass and put cyanide in it. That'll learn 'em.
Metal doesnt shatter
It's called fragmentation and for rounds like the 5.56, not only does it stay in their body it breaks apart and tumbles.
Lead does, or atleast it looks like it shatters.
Doesn't so much shatter as liquify. The poison would most likely evaporate or just vapourise as it left the barrel.
Don't put it on the tip, that would be stupid. Put it under the copper jacket so when it peels away, it exposes the poison. Still stupid as you would need to sacrifice a fair bit of bullet mass to do it.
Who said the tip had to be metal?
Because if it was plastic, then the gunshot itself would melt the bullet, and with all the wind velocity going through burning hot plastic, it would disintegrate mid-air
Da best poison is to make bullets a little dildoes
Probably possible, but who would bother doing such a horribly impractical thing.
Maybe a low powered round like a .22 would work, I'm not sure though.
According to Alone in the Dark V *new* you can add gasoline on bullets and cause incendiary rounds, is that true?
If you manage to make the bullet stay inside the person, it would gie him a very important disease because of the metal inside the bullet touching his insides.

the Vietcong used to put poo on their traps, such as the punji trap, which of course are not the same as bullets, but yes, they do fully penetrate and go through both sides of the person, these were to cause the wounds difficult to heal, and become infectious etc. so yes, from this, im sure it is very practical to poison bullets if you want to slow down treatment if its not a lethal shot, because having to heal the poison would be difficult.
Lets say you see an enemy, you shoot him but he DOESNT DIE. He keeps running at you and shoots/stabs/beats the shit out of you. Then the poison kicks in later and both of you are dead.
I recall reading something about soldiers from other countries (nam I believe) would wrap their bodies in super tight gauze so that they had a few seconds of life left after being shot, that way they could get a kill in before they died. They wouldn't go to heaven unless they got a kill first. I don't think the problem with bullets is that they kill too fast.
Metal doesnt shatter
Lead mushrooms inside you
Get a headshot. Problem solved.
We have something called Poison Dart
Even if the bullet remained in the victim and the poison spread, isn't it going to be inefficient? You just created a wound that is causing this person to bleed, thus losing blood pressure. If anything, the poison would probably gush out of the wound that the bullet made. Also, they'd probably black out before the poison even took effect.
isn't poison supposed to be consumed? Do you mean intoxicated?
