About 2 months or so ago my computer would only partially turn on, some fans but would not post. I bought a new PSU and mother board and fixed the problem. Now my computer will not turn on at all. Some times I can get it to turn on, it will post make it to the desktop for maybe 3 minutes or so then shut down. The power supply is a Corsair CX600M.
Now its turning on and posting, but shuts down almost immediately.
You sure it's not overheating ? let it cool off, and when it boots again check the temps to see if they rise rapidly
When I got it to turn on I looked at the motherboard page thing, where you can overclock and everything. The CPU was around 40 C and the motherboard was at 35 C. It will not stay on long enough to actually do anything, if it gets to the desktop it will just turn off afain before any programs even have time to start up other than windows.
check your uh-- the pins-that-you-short-in-order-to-turn-on-and-restart-your-computer. It could be possible that your case is actually turning off your computer. The motherboard could think you're holding down the power button because your power-on-pins are shorted out. Ill try shorting the pins, you just connect the power button + with the - pin then with a paper clip or the sort? [editline]15th September 2013[/editline] It did nothing, I have a spare motherboard that should work. Im gonna try and swap them out. [editline]15th September 2013[/editline] Switched out the motherboards and it turned on just fine. I guess the other motherboard was messed up, I did not think it was that since when the computer actually turned on it loaded into windows fine, just turned off soon after.
