Recently (The past week) I have been getting some blue screens for no reason I can think of. I have had 3 in the last week and basically none for 6 months before that and only when my video card broke. So this sudden group of them is kind of worrying me. My PC specs are (tell me if you want more detailed: Sapphire HD 6870 Toxic Phenom II x4 965 @stock 4 GB DDR3 Ram Asus M4A79XTD EVO Powercool PSUPC950AUBAM 950W Some of the parts are kind of cheap (PSU) but they have always worked. It has happened 3 times so far and from what I can remember I have never been doing much (hasnt happened while playing a game). The first time I was watching a youtube video (using firefox), the second I was looking at a youtube channel (firefox) and the third time just talking on steam with a static page open in the background in firefox. I think on the bluescreen it says something about memory in the second bit of text (first being SHUTDOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE thing). Other things I can think of: -Got a new phone, often charging it off the multi adapter the computer is plugged into (should I plug the pc into a proper socket, not multi adapter?, the adapter is surge protected(though im not sure if the light saying surge protection is on??, hard to see if its its own light or from the power indicator next to it)) -Often charging iPod through usb cable. Its been plugged in at least two of the times its happened (not sure about the other time). -Often have phone and iPod both charging at same time, think 2 of the times they have both been in (not sure about other time). Thats about all I can think of. Please help. Edit: also, steam was downloading something when it crashed this time (the third time), and now when I try to launch steam it tells me: "Steam.exe (main exception): CMultiFieldBlob(pSerialized): Bad field - extends past end of blob" wat do. Edit: Ok deleting ClientRegistry.blob fixed that. But I still need help with the bluescreen problem.
Try a memory test.
How do I do that?
