And once again Video Games are used as the scapegoat

1993 is also when DOOM was released.
[editline]21st December 2012[/editline]
Followed by other first person shooters
Robbery and Aggravated Assault increased, Murders, not so much.
Plus, the upward trend started before Doom was released.
You motherfuckers I thought you were with our side
The video in the OP has so much wat
You know what's far more likely to cause gun violence than video games?

What the fuck is up with this bullshit? It really seems like the media is trying to blame gaming more in this case then previous tragedies, and it's really pissing me off seeing it mentioned. Maybe because it's the holidays and games are a frequently requested item.
In the break room, I saw Nancy Grace yelling at the top of her lungs about how evil games were and I swear I had to restrain myself from swearing at the television.
Could games contribute to violent behavior? Maybe, but then again I find it hard to believe gaming contributes any more then any other influence.
Sure is 1998 all over again.
They really cited Splatterhouse as a cause for violence? It was released in '89 on an arcade machine and in '90 for the TurboGrafx. Do they think that people actually play it anymore? You would think that if they actually wanted to make a case they would list Call of Duty or something similar at least.
LaPierre added: "Isn't fantasizing about killing people as a way to get your kicks really the filthiest form of pornography?"
Hell yeah I jack off to bulletstorm all the time.
Surprise.
Fuck off NRA.

I think what he was trying to say is that the crime rate started to go down when DOOM was released.

People who actually put themselves around guns on a daily basis aren't the ones shooting up places typically.
It's mostly people who have never held one in their life, in parts of the country with stricter gun laws.

So you bring up not having evidence, and yet:

You bring up no evidence.
"NRA" sounds like a northern irish terrorist organization

I think it's pronounced "ManUnited".
The real cause of violence isn't video games, it's liberal gangsta Rap:

Just listen to those disgusting violent lyrics polluting the minds of children, glorifying gun use and making them want to be a true playa and pop a cop in some bitche's ass.

No.
The FBI profile on a school shooter often cites firearm obsession and grew up in a home where firearms are readily available, often in a unsafe or careless manner.

I don't think that the NRA completely comprehends that easy access to weapons for them also means easy access to weapons for the people who are attracted to violence and have potential to kill people, making it easier for those people to gun down people.
You motherfuckers I thought you were with our side
The only side the NRA is on is themselves, the Republican party, and the gun manufacturers who make bank every time an NRA spokesperson gets up and fearmongers about "Them liberals gon' take yer gun!"
So you bring up not having evidence, and yet:

Fair enough, but gun culture either way doesn't drive people to want to go on a shooting spree. They're more readily available, but that's not the same thing.
The NRA has a point that the media causes that, but they're pointing at the wrong kind of media.
It is always the same, whenever something happens like the recent shootings video games are blamed.
Totalbiscuit once stated that games are not that violent, there are more games with happy themes or no brutality at all. Only the few ones are always bashed upon or games like Call of Duty that have an insane amount of fame and is popular with the kids.

Im not saying that Doom "removed gun violence", im just pointing out to the moment when FPS games became popular. Aggravated assaults were increasing since 1983 and it was decreasing while first person shooters were popular. I just dont see a dramatic difference done by video games in this graph.
And here I thought it was mental instability and ease of access...

Just saying.
So that's it then? We have the answer? Reduce lemon import?
So mexican lemons were the cause of gun violence in the late '80s and early '90?
