Arn't you that guy who keeps posting your hilarious conspiracy theories
Since this was declared by bush or by bush's request, it would be possible for Obama to just remove bush totally, right?
Would really show them how smart it is, even if it was just for a day or so.

Wow, this is old. 2006. There's already been a legal trial that deemed it unconstitutional, Boumediene v. Bush

Since when is this a conspiracy theory? It was all over the press a few months ago. It's right in your fucking face. I could find it online by simply googling it.

I wasn't aware of that trial, but it is reassuring to know it was repealed. But still, with a law like this being passed without the media's notice, until AFTER it was repealed? That just isn't right. For our government to even ATTEMPT to establish laws like this in our country is simply astounding. What ever happened to civil liberties and living in a free market society?

Bush was evil, he took over the world and ate children, get over it.

What? There was a big fuss about it when it was passed.
How old are you?

18. I also suffer from long term memory problems. There are only a few things in the past 16 years of my life that I can remember. So I may have heard of it, but maybe not.
Why yes, that's me. Care to tell me how having your basic fundamental human rights taken away is hilarious?
Well I can certainly tell you how silly conspiracy theories are hilarious.
Abraham Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus during his presidency. Directly. There was no subtle undermining, he directly did it. Get the fuck over it.
18. I also suffer from long term memory problems. There are only a few things in the past 16 years of my life that I can remember. So I may have heard of it, but maybe not.
Well that would explain how you somehow throw away all common sense and any sensible things that should be taken into consideration,
like how conspiracy theories isn't anything new, they always excist and most likely every person with power has a conspiracy theory built around him/her.
What makes you think that Obama is any different?
He's a democratic, and he's not Bush.
Do you people never get satisfied? You keep bitching about how this one guy is going to take over the world,
and then a hip, young, african american(or whatever they call it) man comes in, and runs for president,
and you just think he's exactly like the previous ones, or just worse each time.
You people wont be satisfied until the president spews out all info on military operations and situations just because you think you got anything to do with it.
Few, if any, conspiracy theories are right, and if they were as powerful and evil babyeaters as you claim they are,
they would actually have taken over the world and killed every single one of you, years if not decades ago.
Whereas, It has become necessary to call into service, not only volunteers, but also portions of the militia of the States by draft, in order to suppress the insurrection existing in the United States, and disloyal persons are not adequately restrained by the ordinary processes of law from hindering this measure, and from giving aid and comfort in various ways to the insurrection. Now, therefore, be it ordered, that during the existing insurrection, and as a necessary measure for suppressing the same, all rebels and insurgents, their aiders and abettors within the United States, and all persons discouraging volunteer enlistments, resisting militia drafts, or guilty of any disloyal practice affording aid and comfort to the rebels against the authority of the United States, shall be subject to martial law, and liable to trial and punishment by courts-martial or military commission.
Second: That the writ of habeas corpus is suspended in respect to all persons arrested, or who are now, or hereafter during the rebellion shall be, imprisoned in any fort, camp, arsenal, military prisons, or other place of confinement, by any military authority, or by the sentence of any court-martial or military commission.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed. Done at the City of Washington, this Twenty-fourth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty-seventh.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN. By the President.
WILLIAM H. SEWARD, Secretary of State.
Just so we're clear.
Also, to point out one section:
and all persons discouraging volunteer enlistments
That is not just saying you can punished for resisting the draft, that is saying that if you even suggest that someone should not enlist, you can be punished to the fullest extent. That is not just curbing action, its curbing speech and opinion.
[editline]06:16PM[/editline]
And one more just for the hell of it, showing that it IS technically constitutionally allowed to suspend habeas corpus if for the safety of the people of the United States of America.
The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion, the public safety may require it.
Government spy satellites are stealing your memories maaaaannnnnn
ShukaidoX you need to choose between crazy conspiracy theories or really old news
you can't do both, that's too much for one man
I like how the OP has been responding.
"This is a terrible thing! Our rights are completely GONE!!"
"Uhh...dude this is old, and it was repealed"
"Oh...well the very FACT that this HAPPENED is terrible! The government wants to take your rights!"
May I remind you that "the government" that wants to take your rights is the very same government that repealed this law?
Christ I am so glad I am no longer one of you conspiracy theorists. You all fail to see the bigger picture, you claim to be enlightened but you're as blind as the very people you criticize.
