Phil Ochs was born 1940 in Texas and hang himself, 1976 in New York.
There is quite a depressing story behind it, if you're interested look it up.
Phil Ochs released eight albums during his life time, though he had very little commercial success.

Short and simple thread. He has never been very famous, anyone out there listening to his music?
I like his music. Though I think it's rather unfortunate that he went off the deep end towards the latter years of his life. Oh, and Bob Dylan kicked Ochs out of his car.
