"smashes" Jesus christ I can't stop laughing
Wait, I thought it had been on GoG for a while now?
Now I see where both Gurant (sorta) and Van-man got their avatars from. Anyways, I haven't played this game in AGES.
Playing these on LAN and just exploring maps, was half the fun.
I approve of this.
I heard so much about Carmaggedon and how ridiculously awesome it is, but shamefully I never laid my hands on it. Somehow I never got around it, might redeem my sins by getting this now.
It's dating back to 1997, when videogames were great on CDs (Digital Audio + Game, Game w/ audio tracks on CD) and graphics cards with SVGA support. Now that Carma 1 + SPLAT is here, when's Carmageddon II on GOG?
so uh GoG where's neverwinter nights 2

Aww shit, I remember playing Carmageddon 1 and 2. Oh that was the shit, Plus I was about 3-6 when I played it. I need more.
Right after you buy the shit out of Carmageddon I.
I see... but, for some reason, I can't get Carma2 (or any other Windows 98/XP game that uses DirectX) to play without an "UDPLoader" or 3DFX emulators like nGlide. I can't play by using the Carma2.exe, because it makes my whole computer go slow, make everything seem to have to load (especially the Task Manager doesn't want to load! There's just a ring and nothing happens, forcing me to reboot or shut the fucker down and do something else) NOTE: I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, doesn't come with Windows XP mode (I don't care anyway) Either it's my Nvidia Geforce 460 which doesn't enjoy backwards compatiability with DirectX 8 or lower, the game launchers cannot detect any modern graphics cards that are not DirectX 5 OR I must have done something in my settings which caused the backwards compatiability to break down and simply slow the whole computer down to a:
"Loading... (Me: Loading? More like a hidden message adding "NOT!" at the end!)"
Besides, TDR 2000 doesn't want to play either. I'm... fine with that, the "third" game was not well taken and I found a fake difficulty with killing the peds (even those with clubs are deadly as fuck!)
I remember having played Carmageddon 2 when I was about 6.

If you've ever wanted to try Carmageddon, use this. Carmageddon was designed before OpenGL/DirectX using a now dead API, and it's in DOS. So running the game has only been possible in DOSBox, with a wrapper that implements a driver that goes from the dead API -> DirectX/OpenGL. It's a mess. But GOG.com has packaged it awesomely. I opened it in Wine and it worked better than natively on Linux. Also, it's uncensored and includes manuals and papercraft.
Just a question, does the GoG Max Pack include support for Windows (in UK) or is it the US/Interplay version (MS-DOS only)? Because, I remember seeing a CARM95 in my game directory. Hey zugu, if this Max Pack has Windows 95 mode, I'm going to say "Fuck the requirements, just open up CARM95 in -hires mode and there we go"

The problem with the GoG version is that they really not supporting the Windows 95 hires mode, but only the DOS version. I learned about this after buying the game. Shame on you, GoG and Stainless, I was expecting more from you, especially since you claimed to have worked together for this release. GoG is currently providing an experimental Win 95 patch, but it's not working on Ati / AMD video cards. I have a Radeon HD 6770 so I'm burned. The DOS version really looks like shit compared with the Win95 hires version, not to mention the 3DFx version. Its an exceptionally old game. You can't really blame them for hitting a few snags.

Yeah, I was hoping the GoG version would magically solve all that wrapper / DOSbox stuff, but I still bought it because Carma ruined my childhood (in a good way).
Hey, did anyone crash while trying to play The Splat Pack against Lady Bug or Sinthea? Because for me, it crashes (at least if you do it in Win95 mode, don't think that happens in DOS). Hope GoG fixed up some errors which may have existed in the original (Ex. leftover files from Original Carmageddon in Splat Pack, such as textures used in original's maps, Opponent vehicles with exact same engine sound overriding the player's, the timer ticking faster when you're with a modern computer etc.) Also, anyone think Carmageddon: Reincarnation should bring re-mastered compositions of the removed MIDIs from Carma 1?
That basically niggles, compared to how much trouble the Average Joe would have to-go through to install it on a win7 64bit machine.
Wait so them saying it supports windows seven without too many complications is false?

Earlier this year I got Carmageddon + Splat Pack + glide wrapper + dosbox working smoothly, with the help of some dedicated forums and such - I still have it installed. If you have the patience, it's doable. I'd have jumped on a gog release in a heartbeat though, even with these little niggles. I'm sure the talented people either on the gog team or on the gog forums will get the 3dfx mode working in short order.

Which version is Max Pack? Original or Splat?
Which version is Max Pack? Original or Splat?
The Max Pack is simply CARMA & SPLAT together (not mixed together). In short, it's bundled
I meant which one I should launch because there are 2 folders: Carma and Splat.
