So, this has been going on for a long period actually. It is not a virus as I've reformatted twice, installed drivers etc.
What's happening is when I'm gaming, sometimes it runs smoothly, at others times it slows down and the sound begins to stutter and sound really lowbit. At other times my sound just suddenly goes really high pitch then goes low pitch in a fading movement, and then it stops. Before I reformatted my microphone did the same, so people on skype could hear me with this really weird voice at times.
The weirdest thing is, when MW2 came out, I could play it fine, now I can't, it lags and I don't know what. I've downloaded some RAM testing program, a harddisk testing program and a CPU testing program, none came out negative. I've been thinking it's my graphic card, but I'm not sure. So that's why I am asking here, I am not the best with hardware.
Specs:
Intel dual core, 6600 2.4 GHz
2 GB Ram
8800 GTS 512mb
I know it's not the best specs, but the weird thing it worked before.
are you using an integrated sound chip?
[editline]13th November 2010[/editline]
And have you checked the drivers?
So the entire game slows down? Or just the sound?
If it's the whole game then it's definitely your GPU.
Yes the game get's a lower FPS.
It also happened in Photoshop, when I opened that, but again, that was only sometimes.
I had the exact same problem. Do you have any sort of USB headset plugged in? That was what was causing it for me.
Yes, a Fatality I think. Can it make my games slower too ?
Unplug it and then try. I had the exact same issue as you.
That didn't work :saddowns: I think it's my graphic card but I have no way to test it.
I'm also thinking it could be my power supply if it doesn't give enough power, but I don't know much about computers.
got any virutel ram?
get the program Cpu-z
monitors almost evrything
on a sidenote
GTS versions on GPU is never good.
Where can I see that?
Okay this is weird, even low-end games stutters, like Diablo 2. I'm really confused what it could be then.
Edit: And my computer has been randomly freezing too.
