Ok here's the deal, I'm currently in the process of building a new computer, and so is my brother.
Now my brother's pc was fairly new unlike mine, so as he's bought parts he's been giving me his old ones
Every piece of my current computer is from his except for the hard drive.
Here's the problem, got everything hooked up and it turns on, but displays nothing.
I've tried removing the RAM one stick at a time, changing video cards etc and have no results, a few google searches later reveal that I might need to update the bios, but seeing as the computer displays nothing I have no idea what to do.
Any advice?
Motherboard: MSI P35/G33 Neo combo series
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
Ram: 2 Patriot 1gb sticks
Have you hooked up the video card correctly? Have you tried switching which slot on your powersupply is powering the video card?

Yes, I've even tried different PSU and Different graphics cards.
We think we might've isolated the problem but we aren't sure. We think maybe when we reset the bios it reset to a ver that doesn't support the CPU, I brought over an older CPU to see if that helps at all, will post results.
Keep in mind, I don't think that's the problem considering we had the issue before we reset the bios. It really just makes no sense, the pc pretty much moved cases and all of a sudden doesn't work.
Forgot standoffs?

Well trying a different processor made no difference. So frustating.
Maybe your motherboard isnt compatible with something... I dont know.

He said he's using all his brother's parts. they should all be compadible.
