• Problems getting the perfect shave

Something that bothered me for some time. Every time I shave my face it keeps looking a bit unshaven and is pretty rough to the touch. Plus after about 12 hours it looks I haven't shaved at all/you can see the general area where my beard grows. Now the truth is I don't shave regularly and I tend to use the razor (with 3 blades) for multiple shaves (they are pretty expensive). Any advice? Methods to lower bleeding are welcome, too, but I don't bleed that often or a lot.
Waxing if it bothers you that much.
Use an epilator.
double edge blades work like a charm if shaved in at least three directions. can be cheap too: Just make sure to have good foam material.

Shave with a samurai sword
Walk us through your shave, this way you may get more serious advice. I tend to use shitty disposable twin-blade razors because it's really hard to find a good sixty-blade whatever one here. I shave at night every two days, because a) I don't have any will to do it in the morning and b) this way my skin suffers less irritation. First I apply hot water to my face, this way the pores loosen up, then I apply the shaving gel or cream or whatever. After that I switch the faucet to cold and hold the razor under the stream, I heard in Miller's Crossing that this makes the steel contract or some shit like that, I don't know if it's true or not but I still do it. I shave the area between the cheekbones and the ear first (no idea what you call it, I'm not versed in facial anatomy), then the neck, then my chin and then the moustache area. This way, my face looks clean for another two days.
I usually get the Dollar Shave Club razors for $6 a month, pretty good too. Lasts me a month and a half at my current age, and you get some neat free stuff occasionally. Reason I say this is cause their razors work well for me, might just be the razors you're using.
Are you using shaving gel?
Be a man and grow a beard
Shave with and then against the grain and don't push the blade let it do it's work. For the bleeding get an alum block.
Be a man and grow a beard
No beard is better than an awful beard
No beard is better than an awful beard
Pretty much this. Luckily, I don't have just a neckbeard but my mustache doesn't connect with the rest so growing a beard I'd like seems impossible, plus the density isn't the best, too. And I prepare and shave pretty much the same as Demeschik except I clean the blade with hot water.
What pattern does your facial hair grow in?
What pattern does your facial hair grow in?
Dr evil
the perfect shave is a myth. you'll never get a perfect shave no matter what you use nor what you try. even if you wax all that hair away, you face has been already ravaged by the remains of your beard. dont get fooled though, hair barely grows 1.25cm a month (0.5 inches, aprox) rather than shaving your hair away, try to get the best from it. learn how to trim you facial hair to get the best results out of it. and even if you're really not happy about how it looks, then you're better off shaving every day.

I always shave against the grain. It gives you a really close shave, but for some people, doing that will give them razor burn. Luckily, I am not one of those people. Also, sign up with dollar shave club or Harrys if you want cheap and good quality razors. I shave my head regularly, so I can confirm that they make good razors. [editline]29th March 2015[/editline] As for the bleeding, be sure you're using enough shaving cream/butter/gel/etc. Also, make a lot of soft, short motions instead of forceful, long ones.
Same here, but I do it directly after shaving with the grain. It makes my face feel super-smooth. I always have issues getting the same smoothness on my chin though unfortunately.
Anyone knows how to avoid acne after shaving? I just recently had a shave and the next morning I got like 5 white acne heads on my chin. And what's weird is that in my 6 years of shaving this is probably the first time I got it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, the only changed I made is I changed from a Gillette Mach 3 sensitive to a Gillette Fusion Proglide Sensitive.

The best way to avoid any acne is persistent washing. Careful with your soap, too. Sometimes it dries out your skin and makes it worse.
I just shave in any direction that works Most of the time its to avoid a pesky mole under my jaw or on my chin

That usually removes the dirt and germs that cause acne.
I just shave in any direction that works Most of the time its to avoid a pesky mole under my jaw or on my chin
Shaving my neck is the worst since I've got a mole right over my Adam's apple and it can bleed like a motherfucker.
