• Using my front audio jacks.

My case, a Cooler Master Elite 330, comes equipped with a mic and audio jack at the front of the case. I have yet to use these, seeing as I don't think there's a way to use it with my Sound Blaster Audigy SE. The connector for the jacks looks like this: The pins go in everywhere except in these three (marked by the red dots): My sound card appears to lack any real way to plug this thing in. If there's any way at all to make it work, I'd be glad to hear it. I'm just sick of reaching around to the back of my computer to switch from my headphones to my speakers.

That card doesn't have any pins for front mounted mic/headphone jacks, because it's a budget card from creative. Unless your motherboard is a cheap one too, then i bet it got the pins. though you wont be able to use the creative card then.

You would have buy a higher end card for it to support front headphones.
because we can make hardware do things it wasn't designed to do.
Actually, we can. http://audigy2zshowto.blogspot.com/ Found my fix.
Actually, we can. http://audigy2zshowto.blogspot.com/ Found my fix.
Why does Creative make simple things, so complicated?
Why does Creative make simple things, so complicated?
So they can force you to buy their propriatery and expensive shit. :signings:
I can't believe I figured this out all on my own. Basically. If I take that 7 pin connector for the front panel, remove the wires, I can heatshrink wrap them to the propriety connector on the card. I don't need to make an adapter like that guy did unless I want to. I found the pinout for the wires on the front panel connector, seeing as they'll be the same for those on my mobo: So I simply use the pinout that guy supplied for the proprietary connector, and heatshrink them wires on.
These guys actually make a cable for this. If you know how to solder, or even just crimp, you can actually purchase the connector by itself from the same people for less and hack it on.
