hello, I would like for anyone who reads this to give me a quick rate on my pc
intel core i7 4770
stock 8gb ddr3 at 1600mhz
300watt psu- I know I need to upgrade the power supply
500gb HDD- upgrading soon to a SSD
ATI raedon 5670 hd 1 gb ddr5- I need to upgrade this but before I do that I need to upgrade my psu (the gpu that is in it didn't come with it, it had a nvidia gt635 2gb ddr3)
I needed to upgrade because I was previously using an old cpu a intel core 2 duo E6300 with 2gb ddr2 memory, It still could run games like dayz standalone and rust at 30-35 fps
7/10 would bang
Whats with the decent CPU and low end components surrounding it?
It's the logical upgrade if you can't get everything at once. Without buying a decent CPU and mobo first, buying a new PSU and GPU would be pointless.
I don't understand, are you buying these things? The i7 is completely overkill unless you're doing video editing/ 3d rendering or other cpu intensive tasks. What's your budget?
I think these are parts he already has.

But with i7, you can use faster ram.i5 only allows up to 1600MHZ.So having I7 for gaming isn't pointless at all I think.
Except faster ram is useless for gaming, not to mention you can use whatever frequency ram you want with i5 as well with xmp.
Yeah. Haswell in general is only rated up to 1600mhz. You're thinking of 2011 socket i7's

An i7 isn't useless at all if you like to multitask, especially while gaming.

Why did you reply to my post?

An i5 is just as capable of "multitasking" as an i7. Most processors with multiple cores are. i7s are only useful for VFX and high quality video rendering because those kinds of programs can take advantage of hyperthreading. Literally 99% of games out there don't have HT support, and the miniscule handful of games that do benefit from it will only nab you an extra 1-2 frames per second.
