My computer has been performing poorly since I built it, and I think I have tracked it down to some fundamental failure to read and save files properly. All the files I download have a 50% chance of being corrupted, I can't install anything from disk, and the computer gives me BSODs all the time about this-or-that.sys being corrupted. It can't be the hard-drive or the CD drive, since I've just replaced those, so what could it be?
What BSODs are they?
And it has to be the OS. Your CD/DVD might have a corrupted file.
About 50% of them are MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (my memory is fine), and the other half are ntfs.sys and other system files.
I'll test another copy of Windows ASAP.
Run chkdsk and do a Windows CD repair if that doesn't fix anything.
