so a few weeks ago my F700 died on me, i was playing a game of League of Legends, when the computer locked up, and had weird vertical lines all over the screen, i rebooted and tried my pc again, it didnt start, it froze at the windows screen, the windows text like repeated itself up and down the screen, and it froze again, but i tried restarting again and it worked perfectly, and no more then 10 mins later, same thing happend, once again turned it off, and TRIED to boot it up again, but it wouldnt work, heres a video of the problem im currently facing, its not my video though.

now after a bit of research, im pretty sure i know whats wrong with the pc, and what needs replacing, only problem is, i need the mother board replaced, and from what ive heard, it costs a bit to do it, are there any alternatives to this?
and if i do need to get the mother board replaced, will i need to reactivate windows or anything? or will the mother board just work fine after being put in?
and if anyone knows alot about this problem and knows any quick fixes, i would love to hear them, hopefully quick permanent fixes for this, anything but replacing this rock of a pc, thats the only thing i dont wanna do, cause i dont have the $ for it, unless replacing the mother board would cost about as much as a new pc, then i might consider.
any advice at all would be helpful, thank you
edit: im also thinking about trying to reflow the chip, but ive never seen a laptop mother board before... im that nooby, should i even attempt something like this?
You could try reflowing the chip or baking the laptop but as it is an HP, it is not really worth it, it will break again.

There are no permanent fixes.

how long do you think reflowing it would last for?
and how long do you think totally replacing the mother board would last for?
About the same as your current one did.
Reflowing would last about a month if you are lucky I think.
guess imma get the mother board replaced then, from what i know, this laptop managed to last about 3-4 years, so if it could last me that long again, that'd be great, and could you answer one more question, how much would a laptop similar or slightly better then this cost? (pre built and or put together yourself), just a general rough price, just so i know if i wanna get this one fixed or just buy a new one.
Cheaper to buy a new one, it is not really that good.
Around 400$ would get a better one alaready.
alright, thanks for the info, i'll decide what i wanna do in the morning, youve been an awesome help.
