hey guys, I'm looking for a high quality video camera for myself and a good friend of mine. (I'll be using it for some projects)
My budget is 1,500, no more. (Even if the camera is 600, but is used or something and orig. price is 1K+)
Just cause that's my budget, doesn't mean it has to be met.
I'm looking at the Canon HV30, looks like a very nice cam. good reviews.. I might get this used for 600 or so.

I saw a video on youtube which led me to look up that camera.

I won't be shooting in low light scenarios.
thanks
Yeah Canon HV series is really good all purpose, you might wanna go with the newer HV40 (700$ new) Not sure of the differences though between HV30 and 40 off the top of my head.
If your budget is 1,500$, I'd advise spending the rest on sound equipment (as audio is just as important as video) You can get a BeachTek XLR adapter box and good shotgun microphone for $400. You'll have $400-500 to spare. If you need any more help just ask.
thanks, I'll talk to him about audio eqp. tomorrow. I didn't realize the HV40 was 750, I guess I'll go for that on newegg.
I think that's about it, thanks!
