5650 is great GPU. It overclocks great and performs better than 5750m when OCed
If you can really afford +100$, buy this:

the only downside is the 1366 x 768 resolution, but 720p is good enough for most games.
This one is okay though: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230024

1366x768 (or 1600x900) is clearly enough for a lot of mobile graphic cards. And I don't recommend 1080p resolutions on 15.6" laptops, because letters look so tiny
I have 1366x768 15.6, it looks great
I don't see a single difference between this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230004 and this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220959 (apart from the hard drive) and the difference of price is clearly noteable
Just to point out, in case of.
I would buy the cheaper one (the one from my previous post), but that gets me confused.
Edit: Nevermind, the difference of price is about the warranty.

there is the problem of desktop real estate, but if you're not really an all-out kinda guy, then it's not an issue. It'll work, and it'll look nice doing it. It's just the fact that with a bigger screen and a higher resolution, it could look better.
The words laptop and gaming should not be in the same sentence unless separated by "is not for".

It's possible to play almost every game on a good multimedia laptop; although I agree gaming laptops are a gimmick
I can play games on my laptop. I have an HP Envy 14. It has a 2.66GHz i5 processor with turboboost, and 4GB of ram. I never, never, ever use it to play games. I use it to run virtual machines and other random shit. Laptops just shouldn't be used for gaming. They get too hot, and automatically throttle performance to maintain temperature / battery life.
IMO, if you are serious about gaming, get a desktop.

Several people I know let their laptop/netbook plugged with the battery, even when they use it. So the battery performance is not a real fact.
I prefer to buy a (multimedia, of course) laptop because I can play games without taking my desktop at my mother's or my father's house (or in my future apartment)

I have the model before this laptop, same graphics card slower cpu. It runs most games at 30fps+ on full graphics settings (no AA) at full resolution.
And it runs crysis 2 fine.

Well some of us just want to play Braid and Killing Floor at decent settings. Most $700 laptops can do that.
What about this one?

If it doesn't catch fire it's still overpriced and gimmicky.

540m preforms terribly in games at 1080p due to the GDDR3 anyway.

I believe in letting the battery charge up when you're not using it, then unplugging and using it as a portable device. If you're just going to leave it plugged in....get a desktop.
Side note: For your battery to last, you should regularly discharge, and fully recharge it. Otherwise you will decrease battery capacity and lifespan.
