If you got in on the second round on the promotion, your package doesn't include Squadron 42, but it should still give you access to any new development releases.
Also, for anyone wanting to try SC out, there's a free trial right now. Single-player dogfighting access only, but all flyable ships are unlocked. The code is CITCONFLIGHT2K15 and it's used here. Brace for ~25GB download.
Am i the only one who is still really confused about what Star Citizen is?

There are two main components: Squadron 42, the single-player storyline campaign (like a new Wing Commander), and the Persistent Universe, the online MMO experience that your Squadron 42 character can transition into after clearing the storyline.
It's kind of doing a Star Wars Galaxies in that it merges the space sim experience (flying around in ships) and the fps experience (on-foot combat in stations/on the ground), as well as lots of non-combat options and opportunities.
Also, that trailer was originally a fan-made trailer; the devs loved it so much they got permission, licensed the song, and then recut the trailer with new footage and released it as official.

I guess i'm okay for squadron 42 but not for the other modules aside from AC?

That's a first-wave AMD package, same one I have. You have everything you need.
And, module passes are now officially a thing of the past. When we hit 1 million backers, Chris Roberts wrote this letter and announced that there are no additional costs beyond the initial buy-in for any development modules, period. No more $5 Star Marine pass, no more 500,000 limitation on alpha slots.
I think part of their reasoning is that they're now using Google Cloud Compute virtual servers to run everything, so they only actually pay for the time servers are actually used by players, plus the little overhead to run the matchmaking service. If they're only paying for on-demand usage and not allocating server racks on their own dime as originally expected, then there's no need for the alpha-slot system. Alpha access also complicated a lot, since people wanted to switch original-era packages for newer-design ships that they liked better, but doing that would lose their alpha access. Now this isn't a problem.
