I have a faulty game disk of GTA 4 and it's a pretty old disk. I can't return it and I don't want to buy myself a new one, but I heard you can add games to the Windows Live client. How can I do that so I can download and install GTA 4 from there.
If there's a key in the box, try registering it on GFWL. Why is this not in TS :argh:
If you own a legit CD key that is not stolen or pirated in any shape or form then just register a free account and download an untouched ISO of GTAIV off of -removed-. Its not warez since you actually own (or claim to own) a legit copy of the game that has a bad disc. One would think you would just go buy a new copy seeing as GTA IV is now only like $20.00 from EB Heres a link :) http://www.ebgames.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=72574
he already owns a legit copy, imo just download the game files again off the net and use your cd key instead of a crack

You are not allowed to download a copy, in some circumstances you are allowed to make your own copy. Also don't be fooled by any "if you delete it within 24 hours" crap, that's all a crock of shit. Why are you guys rating me dumb? How about actually looking up the actual law rather than just debating what you want to believe?
You only need to buy the serial.

It is illegal to download a copy of the game even if you own a serial. Please look up actual copyright laws before you go disagreeing with people over them.
You might be able to use the serial on Steam
You might be able to use the serial on Steam
This. I bought a game out of a charity shop once, it had a serial number and out of curiosity I tried it in steam and it worked.
You might be able to use the serial on Steam
GTA IV isn't on the list sadly https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601
