Title pretty much says it all. I'm running an Asus X83VB-X1, which is a terrible gaming laptop and runs games at low-medium, but I noticed playing GTA 4 the other day, my mouse would start to be unresponsive for a few seconds, brought by my keyboard to where Id do the action I wanted to do 10 seconds before I pushed the keys. So, I thought it was running too slow, and restarted my computer. So I restarted, and it worked fine for a few minutes
Then it got worse.
It started to spike for minutes on end. I then got off the game an ran a defrag + optimize on my computer. So, I then thought "Hm, maybe my hard drive is cluttered. Nope! I have my 30gb left on my C: drive and about 11 on my D: drive, which I hold more than 70gb of games on, and my external drive, which I use for Photoshop projects, is still at its 275gb. So, after the defrag + optimize was done, I restarted my computer.
Then, it got even worse!
I try typing, and if I make an error a few sentences back, I hold my backspace key for about 2 secs, and it deletes everything I'm typing because it cant keep up with me deleting text.
Ive only had this laptop for about 6 months at the least, and my old laptop (Dell Inspirion 5100) runs faster than this thing currently! So, I'm considering getting a much better computer. Should I start putting money into a new laptop (preferably Asus G50), or is there something that I can solve to make it run better..?
Oh yeah, and my specs
Video card : GeForce 9300M GS 512 MB
RAM : 4GB
Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T6400 @2.00GHz 2.00 GHz
System type : 64-bit Operating System
OS : Windows Vista Home Premium
Update : Ive decided Im pretty much going to save for another computer, Ive customized an Alienware M11X to my liking, and itll be around 900$ , but from what I see the people playing on it, they way I have it set will be perfect.
