Tell me if I'm correct (apple's replacment policy)

When I went to have someone look at my ipod at the apple store to see if i could con my way into getting a new one, they said I can trade in my current Ipod touch for a new one for only 99 bucks. Is this true?, because I really fucked my current one up hard.
I'd do it as soon as the new ones come out next month

But it is correct right?
And so what if there are new ones? Don't they have to abide by the replacment policy that I got when I bought the ipod?
It's also a rebranded 2g ipod so I think it's already out of date.

Oh, and if I go into an apple store and do this replacment for 99 bucks, will I be able to use a debit card?
Yeah you would be able to use a debit card, also I'm not sure if you would get a current gen or if they would give you an older one.
I think the guy said I would get the exact same one, providing they have them in stock. I'm sure apple is not that big of dicks to give me a product older than what I paid for.
