http://hannahmontana.sourceforge.net/ Look at the faqs:
Q : Is there a Live CD version? A : The download is both a Live CD and Install CD in one Q : How/why did you make such a great OS? A : I thought - what would attract young users to Linux? So I created this idea after a lot of reading and work. Q : How can I watch DVDs and other Media? A : click the Hannah Montana menu, then Utilities, then Konsole, then type: sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2 kubuntu-restricted-extras Q : Is Linux really virus-proof? A : Mostly - Windows viruses do not affect it at all, and a Linux virus (very rare) can only do damage if you manually give it permission to run. Q : Will you be supporting other computer architectures like AMD64, SPARC, MIPS? A : Possibly, if I can get remote access to that type of system. I only have the following computers: Toshiba u200, Acer ASPIRE One, Dell INSPIRON | B120, MacBook 5,2 (all Intel X86).
I hope Disney sues the creator for this.
I posted something about this in another thread, I'll see if I can find it.

Lol it doesnt use KDE 4, therefore it must suck ass. And its probabely just a slightly modified version of an older version of kUbuntu

:regd09:
also powa killer, kde 4 is the worst of all kde variations
also powa killer, kde 4 is the worst of all kde variations
for fucks sake it was a joke! JK
also powa killer, kde 4 is the worst of all kde variations
I tried KDE4 on this eee pc. Wasn't good. I need to find a good distro for this thing. Even the ubuntu netbook version hangs and stuff. I like my eye candy too much. I'll try disabling effects and emerald
I died inside.
That is fucking ugly. :flaccid:
Perfect plan to attract young Linux users - Package hot (but legal) pictures of Miley Cyrus that you must compile from source!
also powa killer, kde 4 is the worst of all kde variations
I never could like KDE3.
So it's basically branding the Hanna Montana logo to every aspect of the OS, but adding no 'young user' friendly tools or helpers? Sounds just the best!
Q : How can I watch DVDs and other Media? A : click the Hannah Montana menu, then Utilities, then Konsole, then type: sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2 kubuntu-restricted-extras
lol even kids linux needs cli usage
lol even kids linux needs cli usage
It's just faster. You could use synaptics if you were a slow Windows GUI user.
If you're going to introduce your kids to Linux, please use this: http://www.qimo4kids.com/ Much, much better.
Now that you've seen that, go back and think long and hard if having a "Facepunch Linux" is any better.
If you're going to introduce your kids to Linux, please use this: http://www.qimo4kids.com/ Much, much better.
I would've reccomended edubuntu, but seeing as you're focusing on kids at home, qimo is good too
It's just faster. You could use synaptics if you were a slow Windows GUI user.
If I were a slow Windows GUI user I could put the DVD in my DVD drive and it'd play without doing anything :smug:
No, seriously, :regd09:.
If I were a slow Windows GUI user I could put the DVD in my DVD drive and it'd play without doing anything :smug:
I wouldn't want that at all actually. I hate it when things start doing thing when I don't want them to. [editline]09:05PM[/editline] It'd go something like "FUCK YOU WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER" [editline]09:06PM[/editline] "RAGE QUIT" c
Yeah I've no idea why I'm not asked what to do with the DVD ala XP (and maybe Vista?) but hey I don't code it.
If I were a slow Windows GUI user I could put the DVD in my DVD drive and it'd play without doing anything :smug:
Same on Linux? Distros don't package DVD packages by principle, not because they can't. See Mint, for example. It's also usually quite trivial to play restricted content (e.g. MP3s on Ubuntu)
