Well, I'm not talking man's first car, since that would be a steam-powered one from 1769. And I'm sure there are at least some gals browsing around here. I instead refer to the first car that you can claim as your own. Or, if you're not there yet, the first car you've been allowed to drive regularly. Or, if you're not there yet, you probably don't have a driving license.
My first car died just a week ago. As any man's first car should be, it was a complete piece of shit. A 1990 Chevrolet Corsica. And it died just last week. Yes, that car was running for 20 years, the last 3 in my ownership.

Now, this thing came from 1990. Automatic locks? No. Automatic windows? No. CD player? No. Tape deck? Not even. Air conditioning? Hell no. RPM, temperature, or any other sort of useful gauge? No.
2 gauges on it. Speed, and gas level. And the fuel gauge didn't even work that well, since it would go down about 1/2 the tank on left hand turns. Top speed? About 140km/h.

If my car had a flux capacitor, I would barely be able to go back in time.
It came up to about the time where repairing the car would cost too much, so I bought a new one. The Corsica actually died for good in the parking lot of the car dealership. So, I'm now the owner of a Hyundai Elantra Touring.

R.I.P. Corsica, you will always hold that special spot in my heart as my first car. Now let us nostalgia about our first cars.
Yeah, no.
Well, I'm not talking man's first car
Why didn't you word it differently then, because the way it's worded is for the very first car
Nice looking car, the Hyundai I mean. Safe, Reliable, somewhat stylish, and going to get you more bitches than an older Chevy.
My first car was a shitty green color 1996 Honda hatchback
I am now the proud owner of a 2003 BMW M3
That little Honda though got me through some rough times (and some sexy ones) till the day I took it into the junk yard :patriot:
I'm due to inherit an 80s Yugo.
Joy.
even in 1990 most cars had a tachometer & AC. and if you meant YOUR first car, say "A MAN's first car."
and if you took better care of your baby, it wouldnt have died after just 3 years in your posession.

Thank you for assuming I treated my car badly.
Thank you for assuming I treated my car badly.
you're calling it a piece of shit, you must've hated it
My first car is my uncles old (1998) Ford Expedition. It's a beauty in my opinion, and it's helped my uncle get past the hardest parts of starting his natural gas company. Needed some fixing up, but hopefully it will run for at least another 10 years.
My first car was an Acura Integra Type R
it's still working
:>
you're calling it a piece of shit, you must've hated it
Most first cars are pieces of shit. It doesn't mean you don't love it. Only a mother can love an ugly baby, only an owner can love a POS car (when it's your first).

You obviously can't relate to OPs feelings.
I still have my first car. 1990 Mercury Topaz. No air conditioning, cupholders, headroom, has ungodly squeaky brakes, and the RPM randomly drops and it dies.
I love her.
My first car was a saxo
my 2nd was a corsa
my 3rd was a saxo
Thats a nice new car, i like the new one you have.
My car is a 1997 Toyota Camry LE.
I passed my driver's test with the required amount of hours behind the wheel (6), never drove any more than that, so my parent's said I'm not ready and I'll kill myself or someone else. I make it back home my first day of driving by myself, I call my parents out of the house so I can park and rub it in their faces. And then I hit my mom's car(she was sticking too far out of the driveway, no joke, it almost wasn't entirely my fault) anyway, I panicked and instead of hitting the brakes the I hit the gas and it shattered the whole front right end of my car. I had never practiced parking alongside a curb lol. Headlight still works, I like to think of it as a battle scar, for years to come.
But the car's got 193k miles on it and I expect it to live maybe another 2-3 years, it stalls on me everywhere already.

Bingo.
That's kinda unlucky.
Is it a manual then?

My first car :smug:.
Say hello to all the guys and girls that are going to be laughing at your dumb ass as you cruize around thinking you are the bee's knees.
(Ironic post, 19 and a commodore driver)
2005 Dodge Grand Caravan.
A/C, radio, CD player, cup holders, the works. Too bad it's a freaking soccer mom car.

Yeah I don't even know how it happened, my dad must be a champ at getting lost, or he drove it around on purpose just so I end up with a shitty car like everyone else. lol
Haven't had a first "car" yet, but I do have a first truck.

Specs:
1979 Chevy K20 (3/4 ton, full time 4wd)
350 smallblock rebuilt at maximum 15k miles ago, 3 speed auto, dual exhaust
92k miles
repainted once by me and my dad (spray paint, i think we did a good job)
I expect at least 10 years until the engine needs to be rebuilt, 5 or so for the tranny.
Only thing is, can't afford to drive it. $20 a day just to drive it to school and back.
But it's worth it IMO to ride in a truck thats been in the family since it was new.
Bonus pics:
