I feel like I left something out during installation...

Because I have constant Kernal Errors, anyone else?
What is the error?
It just gives me a crash report and tells me to report it.
Reinstall. Usually fixes things. Sometimes it could be a bad disc, try burning a fresh copy at the slowest speed possible.

You must be new to Linux. Unlike with Windows, the "It doesn't work (tm)" report isn't very helpful.
A screenshot of the error would be a good starting point.
And what is your os? You are giving literally no info.

Linux, obviously. This wouldn't be something distro specific.

It would be since, we don't know if he installed ubuntu or gentoo, or arch even.
No, it wouldn't be distro specific at all. Also, you're talking like Arch is harder to set up than gentoo. Arch is piss easy to set up and use.

It is kinda' distro-specific though, since Arch and Gentoo and Ubuntu and Red Hat and all the other variants... well, they all use different versions of the linux kernel, and all upgrade at different stages, and some have proprietary drivers and others don't and some are tailored for, say, netbooks and laptops and others are configured for servers... so the error could be a kernel message that's caused by how the distro has configured the kernel, ergo, it's distro-specific, even if it's technically not.

It sounds like you're talking about a crash message from Apport. That's not necessarily (or even likely) caused by a kernel error. Did you actually see something that said it was a kernel error?
When you see one of those messages, click the "report" button, then click the arrow next to "content of the report", and tell us what it says under "title".

It is because he said like he missed something during install. If it was ubuntu, I don't know how you could possibly screw up. It's easier than assembling a lamp.
Arch however, has some places where an amateur, could mess up.
Same goes for gentoo?

I think he's just jumping to conclusions without actually understanding the problem, so I'd take that with a grain of salt. "Kernel error" and "caused by leaving something out during installation" don't even make sense together. (You either have a kernel or you don't, and if you don't, you can't boot.)

Unless you compile your own kernel, then you can leave out stuff like networking, or your cd drive.
Those wouldn't cause crashes though. A misconfigured kernel might be unable to boot, or might lack some "essential" capability like networking, but it's not likely to lead to friendly Apport popups on the desktop.

Like I said, not distro specific.
It's Ubuntu 9.10 it was a good disk(I checked for problems), and I wasn't really asking for help, it isn't doing anything except asking me to report it and nothing has been going wrong. I was just asking if anyone else had this "problem."
