Tiberian Sun is my favourite C&C game maybe, or RA2. Hard to choose. Music, of course, was fantastic in both of them. While RA was my first C&C and RA2 most played, I have to say TS is my favourite. Red Alert; 5. Tiberium Wars[/sp] if you're lazy/don't want to snap your neck
Wow it's been almost five years since EA executed the C&C series
Tiberian Sun is a masterpiece and one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played, Kane lives in death.
Tib Sun definitely had the best sense of atmosphere of any C&C game, in large part to the amazing soundtrack.
It's such a shame TIb Sun got fucked over by EA's budget cuts and shoving it out the door. The engine isn't feature complete or fully tunned. I've heard from multiple things that the infantry weren't even finalized sprites but just placeholders. The engine was also going to support 3d mesh in addition to voxels (and I've heard people have hacked that functionality in too, at least in the RA2 branch of the engine). It's still a fantastic game with great atmosphere. The future titles just went full camp and lost that atmospheric feel. It's especially noticeable with C&C 3, it lacks that alien feeling Tib Sun had. Ion storms, Meteor showers, vines, and Tiberium growth, along with the dim lighting and dirty environment gave this great, apocalyptic and alien feeling environment. At times, C&C 3 just felt like Generals with C&C units thrown in, plus the unit designs in it were rather generic. Nothing has captured that atmosphere quite as well.
