So I currently have two choices for monitor setups:
Expensive Setup 1:
3x Acer x233h + ATi 5850 with eyefinity = 240£+209£ = £449 overall
Medium Cost Setup 2
1x Acer x233h + 32" TV + ATi 4870 1GB = £234+£118 = £352 overall
I already have one Acer x233h 23" screen that has a Res of 1920 x 1080, the 32" TV would have a res of 1366 x 768. I like having a large screen/workspace, but if I was to get the tri screen setup that would cost more, use more power, require longer desk space. Setup 2 would cost less, have lower res, bigger screen for movies/games/work/etc and ability to use a Wii/Xbox if I got one (possibility) on it without adapters/tv capture cards.
So I ask to anyone that has a 32" or a big TV as their PC screen, what is it like, is it good for games and such. I use my PC mainly for games and photo/video editing so having a big screen would be nice for up close and such. I have started to find my 23" monitor is getting smaller the more I use it (:v:) I used a 32" TV as a gaming screen before and loved it, but never used it for everyday stuff so I would like some opinions
32" TV for computer is good, but not at close range, unless you want to go blind.
The backlights on TVs are generally much brighter than their computer counterparts, though every monitor I own has the brightness at it's lowest level.. I can't stand the fatigue.
Apart from that, Big screen gaming is FUN.

I use a 32inch HDTV, at 1920x1080 works great I could never go back
if you got some extra space, you could always go with a projector
If you want HD then this is probably not the best choice
That's what I'm using, pretty sweet
About the brightness, my Acer screen was really bright to begin with, but I got used to it after 2weeks. Most likely be getting a TV then, and if I can find a 1080 HD one on ebay shops then Ill snap one up straight away

Forget about the 32" I think Im gonna get a 28" Monitor: http://www.amazon.co.uk/HannsG-HG281DP-Widescreen-Black-Monitor/dp/B000YAHWF2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1255154929&sr=8-2

Actually, I was hospitalised once because of a photosensitive migrain attack, I could barly see out my right eye for 4 hours.
Diagnosis? Caused by bright lights, It happened while I was staring at a word document for 2 hours at college.
Although I didn't mean it seriously (Hyperbole :downs:), It obviously isn't good for you.

Learn to turn the brightness down or get the fuck away from the computer.

Because at college I can get away with fucking around with the monitors.
I bring a laptop to college now, mostly because the computers are utter SHIT and could not be used for recording and mixing audio (Pentium 4 IBM Netvista... to track audio? What.)
What my point is, LCD Panels deigned for television use (Long distance) don't go as dim as ones deigned for close range viewing, I know this from first hand experience. I personally would not want to use my LG 42" HDTV at less than 3 feet distance even on lowest brightness, it's still bright as hell.
Personally if this is a display I was going to spend a long ass time looking at, I'd rather use something that won't be so bad for me.

what are you 6 inches away from it?
I am atleast 2 feer
Well I would probably go with the three monitors because you get the 5870 but other than that I would probably go with the tv.
What do you think of that 28" PC Monitor I found? I thought that would be better suited for what im doing plus I can use a Xbox on it and shit when I get one (maybeh) :clint:
Looks nice also what kinda graphics card would you get.
A ATi 4870 1GB
I would recommend the 5870 just cause of the performance and also you should save some money with just going with the single 28 in.
I was looking at getting a 40' for a monitor on black Friday. Any feedback, suggestions?
