Not sure what happened, my computer won't turn on now and the only reason I can find is two bent over pins on my processor, is there anyway to fix it? Or am I going to have to buy a new one.
You can unbend them with thin tweezers or something similar.
If it's already fucked, no harm in trying. I'm guessing it's an AMD.
A corner of them are only slightly bent one way or the other, they all fit in the socket though so I don't know what to do now.
Intel are so intelligent, this is impossible to do on an intel now.

Maybe because there are no pins on Intel CPUs?
There's always the motherboard pins.
:regd09:
bend it back

I'd rather bend processor pins than motherboard pins.

Carefully bend them back.
If it doesn't work, RMA the CPU, say it came like that?
I used a metal ruler to bend mine flat.
It is also possible to replace the pins if they snap off if you're a good solderer.
The only problem I could see now is one right by the triangle snapped off, I'm working on putting some regular cable in it's slot.

Oh dear..
Good luck brave sir.
How exactly did you manage to do this?

When I booted up my new PC it stopped with just a background when I was installing windows 7, so I went to check out my processor and somehow bent some in the process.

Even when your processor cost £116 and your MoBo cost £40?
(Mine did)

Did you apply any pressure on the cpu as you were putting it in?
you're not supposed to do that.
