Hey guys, I'm ordering a new loadout for my computer and didn't know which PCI card was best to get - or even if there is necessarily a 'better' one So, recommendations?
Why do you need a PCI network card? That motherboard has built-in GigE, which will be more than adequate
So that will run wireless/ethernet? I've always been used to having a couple of aerials sticking out the back
That'll give you Ethernet, but if you want Wireless, just shove one of these in (but bear in mind wireless isn't exactly ideal for a desktop IMO)
Ah shit, I've ordered all that other stuff now thinking it would run wireless. Yeah, I much prefer using ethernet, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to get it where I'm moving too yet, so wireless is a must-have. They don't have that card in yet - is there another good one that I can order now? I just need to get a solid connection running on this thing as quickly as possible
get this : http://www.amazon.com/Alfa-AWUS036H-Upgraded-Wireless-Long-Rang/dp/B000QYGNKQ :D
Hahahah holy shit - does that thing work??! I can't imagine USB being that strong for a signal, but the reviewers seem to love it

I can't imagine USB being that strong for a signal, but the reviewers seem to love it
One problem, it's in the US marketplace. Sorry for giving you an out of stock card, here's a practically identical one that's in stock (I think scan let you modify orders before they ship, otherwise you could ring them tomorrow morning and ask them to add "LN35762" to your order number and save on having to pay shipping again). Otherwise, here's a slightly more expensive card on Amazon.co.uk, but bear in mind you'll have to pay shipping again.
Thanks man, you've been a great help - added the Scan one as a separate order and it should arrive at the same time as the others. I don't mind about paying the shipping again, it's only a small fee when I'm paying all this money anyway... Thank you for your knowledge!
