• How to check computer temp?

Hey everyone, recently built my first ever PC for gaming. I just wanted to know if there was a program I could use that would allow me to check the temperature of my hardware while I'm running it, so like the CPU, GPU, HDDs and all that good stuff. I've tried searching the forums for a similar thread but haven't found anything :/ Something that doesn't take up much resources while running in the background would be good. Thanks in advance!
Many, many ways. There are "Heat testing" programs that put your card to the limit to see its maximum temperature, but if you want to just find out how hot it is in-game then i recommend speccy It shows your computer specs, but also how hot they currently are beside the CPU and the Video card.
HWmonitor is probably the best, it shows MIN/MAX/AVG temps of the GPU, MB, CPU, HDDs, and shows fan speeds/voltage. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
My friend said I should benchmark it. But from what I read that means putting on a bunch of programs or similar to do it. Do I really need to benchmark it? Or can I just leave it as it is?
