Hey guys,
This is a brand new gaming build which was made in late December last year.
Alright well one day I shut off my computer, nothing bad happened, it was just like any other day.
The next day when I turned it on, it shut off immediately, I tried turning it back and on and it stayed on, so I thought nothing of it. On the third day, same thing happened but this time it never stayed on. It would just turn itself off immediately, then turn itself back on, then off, then on, off and on etc...
I did some research and found no solution. Some say it could be the RAM, CPU or PSU. I had two different technicians test the PSU and they said it's fine. The second tech performed a more thorough test and claimed it was either the RAM or CPU. Because everything I have is still under warranty, I sent those two components back. After 6 weeks of waiting I got the new items in the mail and had the build put back together and the problem persisted! Now the tech is telling me it's most likely the motherboard.
Now my warranty claim for the motherboard has been approved, but if it's not messed up at all, I have to pay for labour costs for testing it. I don't want to do that so I want to be confident it's the motherboard.
What do you guys think?
1) The PSU was tested twice and claimed to be fine
2) RAM and CPU I just got brand new ones and problem persists
3) It's not my HDD as with it being disconnected, problem persists
4) It can't possibly be my SSD or water cooler right?
5) It also can't be my graphics card as with it being disconnected too, it still persists.
So the only option left is the motherboard correct?
I've been 2.5 months without a computer due to this, I really need to get this solved, any help would be appreciated!

Your motherboard has a clear CMOS button, diagnostic LEDs, and two BIOS chips on it. There's a lot you can do to troubleshoot that thing. So obviously if you haven't, check your diagnostic LEDs, clear your CMOS, and try flipping the multi-BIOS switch to use the other BIOS. Call up MSI tech support if you haven't already.
Also, just try unplugging all of your case connections (your motherboard has its own power on button and reset button). Seriously, I've had a shorted USB port on my case that kept my PC from powering on. Simply unplugging the SSD and water cooler for a quick test won't harm anything and can easily eliminate them too.
What did the technician actually do for the test of the PSU? An open circuit voltage check won't always catch a bad PSU if it only fails when under load.
First of all, go into your bios and find the setting that will say something like "default on power loss" or whatever. It's set to "power back on". Turn that off, you dont want your computer power cycling constantly if it does power off randomly like that, it can cause tons of issues like hard drive corruption.
There are a number of things that can randomly shut off a pc, i recently found one such issue that i think was linked to a glitch in my GPU changing power states, i ended up having to force it to stay at max power state and i also replaced some faulty memory and lowered my OC a little and everything is a-ok now even though im not sure which fixed it.
You could also be overheating, shutting back off again right after is consistant with the pc noticing it's overheated and forcing a shutdown.
Sounds like the motherboard popped. Is it just a black screen, turns on, lasts half a second then off constantly? Typically that's either the board or RAM that's gone.
