So my mum bought a nice 18" p500 laptop, and as you may know if you buy any laptop pre release you get windows 7 free, so she brought it home and installed it, 3 hour install "apparently" i was playing gmod and whatever so ANYWAY, I finally found reason and though hey! il install it on my laptop! (after reading on the net that you can install it on 3 machines), but ever since i installed it HER Laptop runs like amaizing shit....
so i had to use recovery disks to go back to vista >.<
i hate you microsoft,
anyone else get this problem?
(sorry if this has been posted before :) )
Nope, sounds like the installation got fucked up. Hopefully you did a complete install, and not just a shitty upgrade from Vista. Even then, the laptop shouldn't run like shit unless it's running a Celeron/Pentium D with 256MB RAM and Intel GMA 950.
see then we rang microsoft, they sayd that you cant install windows 7 more than once on any computer (wich is completely bullshit)

Well if it only came with one license key, then you have to believe them. If it came with 3 license keys, then you are entitled to 3 installs on the machines of your choice.
pixel heart you a very smart boy ;) but then how could i install it on mine AND hers? and only hers runs slow

...and to answer that question, you need to purchase 1 more license key to install it on the second machine using the same disc.
And the license keys are what costs. Aren't they 160-180$ or something?

For Home Premium, that sounds about right.

For retail HP yes, OEM is much cheaper.
Since it installed at all, I would assume it's a problem with drivers, or hardware, not licenses.
mmm yeh doesnt make sense that it installed but hers is slow.
