pc is upset
Damn it, John, stop being so lazy.
Four discs? Hahaha.
4 disks what the fuck
I'm pretty sure it's two discs, because it's far too expensive to do three.
Use a Blu-Ray duel layer.
John Carmack is struggling with running Rage on the PS3 at good enough FPS? Damn, that's awful.
For PS3s worldwide, that is.
Why did Sony have to do their stupid architecture for the PS3? It's what's stopping nearly every game company in its tracks because they can't develop correctly.
I love both PS3 and 360, but I always cheered a little more the behemoth that was the PS3.
It doesn't really matter though, since I am going to get it for PC anyway.
I assume that these four discs will all be dual-layer?
What about the PC? How many DVDs will there be?
Hahahaha 4 disks.
It is multiple discs. We think that it’s going to cram onto two discs right now. We’ve been spending a lot of effort on an extra compression method for it, and profiling where we can cut on that.
So yeah, whoever said four discs is exaggerating, but gamers just love that.

The architecture it uses was designed for supercomputers. What I think happened is that someone in marketing looked at it and wanted to be able to advertise "We put a supercomputer in your living room". The problem is, supercomputers don't care about latency as much as normal systems. Which is a big deal for gamers.
I'd take 60 FPS on a couple discs than 20 on one.
It is a real bloody shame, PS3 has many great features and could have been a incredible console which would have put up a good battle in the console market...only if they got the architecture right and made it with developers in mind.
I can't imagine the frustration these developers go though trying to get their product to work perfectly on the PS3. They see the results of one console's version, and they go to the other and have to be disappointed.
PS3 had this trouble with Fallout 3 as well. And that was one disc for all systems, so it clearly has nothing to do with it being an intense game. Its NOT a good console when you look at it. The only games that run well on it are the ones designed specifically for it like Metal Gear Solid 4 and the others. Otherwise, it just falls behind. The PS3 is a good media player, and that is what I use mine for 90% of the time. Browsing the internet and watching movies. Its the exact same thing with the PSP. Great media player, crap game system.

I can't express how right you are. Sony went completely overboard with the PS3. The system lacks focus, first it wants to be the ultimate home entertainment system, then it wants to be a super computer.
In the end they failed to realize all of this left the developers out in the cold because they didn't make the system a "game" console. Now developers have to bust their asses trying to get games to work properly.
This probably isn't to do with the PS3 being too poor to run it, more to do with unoptimised code I think.
How the fuck is there co-op when there's 4 discs?
[editline]10:24PM[/editline]
Also what's with the rage? It never said it runs faster than the PC it said it ran faster than the PS3.
Damn it, Zips, for a sec there I thought it ran faster than the PC too >.<

So, watch your titles
(wtf no edit butten)

One for each player?
I disagree with this fact and bring you a new one
"If you call now, we'll give 'ya a graty, free"
For a secound, I thought the title meant that "rage" as in anger happens faster in Xbox 360s than PS3s....
Hi we're too lazy to further optimize this game for PS3 and/or are under time pressure so we will now talk technical limbo that fanboys will love.

seriously, kids need to stop whining about the 360's four disks when 60 fps is much better than 20
4 discs? Holy fuck. Haven't seen that since FF7 on the PS1
Awesome!
