First, I apologize for making a thread like this, but I need help from people with experience in this kind of issues.
I have a Xbox 360 Slim (I got it a few years ago). I've never had problems with it, no overheating, etc.
The past months I bought Grand Theft Auto V (I don't blame the game for the current console failures, but I think that it's important to mention just in case) and then weird stuff happened.
The game could get stuck at some points, and the disc got scratched after a long time but the game was still playable (with huge loading times).
One day, while playing Grand Theft Auto V, my Xbox got shutdown, the PSU (Power Brick, Power Supply Unit, AC Adapter) had a red light. I unplugged everything and tried to play again after a few hours. The console shutdowns itself again after 20 minutes, this repeats over and over.
I even tried another game and I still got the same issue.
I did everything that the Xbox Support Page told to me.
I was sure that the Power Brick wasn't overheating, I changed the position of my Xbox. I even tried to play on my brother's room and I still got the same issue.
The Power Brick wasn't plugged to the wall though. It was plugged to a Voltage Regulator
On Friday, I bought a new Power Brick.
Yesterday I played Grand Theft Auto V for a long time without any problems.
Today I was playing again and the Power Brick got a Red Light again.
I unplugged it again, and then I tried to play again, but not the same game, I played a game from my HDD. The Power Brick doesn't show a Red Light now.
Could this be a problem related to the scratched disk? (Sorry if the question sounds really stupid. I have zero acknowledge about how this works.)
Yesterday I unplugged the Power Brick while I wasn't playing. The Power Brick is not overheating and it is plugged to a Voltage Regulator.
I gave my GTA V disc to a friend, and his power supply got a similar problem, and it happened while he was playing. (We both have a Xbox 360 Slim and the consoles use the same kind of adapter).
Please don't hurt me FP, I'll try to be good.
