I don't think the fact she has a famous father or a not as famous vagina had much to do with the fact she simply wrote a super mediocre and generic story.
Hopefully she'll do better on City Watch, else it won't last long.

avatar's plot is like something strait out of a low budget Sci-Fi Saturday morning cartoon, not even a two part episode
