I'm planning on doing an upgrade in the next few weeks and need some help deciding parts. My current system specs are Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L CPU:E8400 RAM: 4gb DDR2 1200 GPU:9800 GTX+ Case: Antec 300 Monitor: ACER X223w at 1680 x 1050 PSU: Not sure what brand but its a 750 watt. HDD:Doesn't matter I'm located in the U.S and want to buy from newegg but I will consider others. I'm mainly looking at replacing the mobo, cpu, and gpu.
Get a better processor, like this Q9300 and save a bit more and get this Palit GTX 470 Or a 5850 if you want to stay under budget, but some others will claim that you would want to wait until the 6xxx series come out.
Yes wait for 6000 series. Don't they come out in a week or so?
I think they come out on the 18th, so next Monday or sometime around then.
So just getting the Q9300 and a GPU would be a wise choice?
Yes. It will be adequate until the socket change next year. (I hope it would be okay for longer)
