Would dualing two 5670's be able to run 100-200 FPS on Source Games?
Thanks in advance.
[editline]12:11AM[/editline]
Also, is 3GB of RAM plenty to run all games?
I dont think you can CF 5670s
you can.

and I'm not sure about the FPS.
give specs and resolution.
It's a build I'm making. Hmmh, would dualing GTS 240's even do the trick to do AA and run Max settings, my monitor should be a 21.5" or 23", still trying to decide.

I'm pretty sure you can, seeing as I'm running an ATI Radeon X800 and can max CS:S completely and stay at 30 fps.
Don't Crossfire 5670s. Just get a 5750. I get 200+ FPS in TF2 and 70+ in L4D2.

you can't SLI the GT 240.
SLI gives alot of problems you dont want.
Just get a single card.
Why would you want 200 Fps anyway?
Everything above 60 is pretty useless annyway.
You notice it but it doesnt really add value.
hell, I'm happy with 30fps most of the time.
Actually, I have 10/10 vision, and apparently I'm able to tell the difference from 60 FPS all the way up to 120.

Yes the human eye does not see if fps but your monitor most likely maxes out roughly at 60 fps.
My monitor maxes out around 120 :D
It's 399.99
LCD by design is usually limited to 60

If you've got a CRT though, that's a totally different story
Stop trying to SLI/CF just because you think its cool. It's a horrible idea on low-end cards. Just buy a 5770 or 5850 for christ's sake.

This.
Keep a PCI-e slot empty to crossfire in the future. Crossfire and SLi are an upgrade option, not something you do with your initial build.
Multi GPU is usually worth it only when you're shooting for the top, when you want to get higher performance than the most powerful single gpu card available. Otherwise you get better price:performance ratio if you just get a better single gpu card instead, not to mention lower power consumption.
People need to learn that refresh rate =/= FPS.
You can see the difference bitween 120 and 60 fps on a 6o hrz LCD.
And dont Crossfire because it sounds cool.
I got my second 4870 2 years after I got my first because I did not want to buy an exspensive 5870 for an upgrade.
If I would do a new build I would 100% have bought a single 5870.
He's making an alienware build, that's why it's SLI/Crossfire.
My single 5770 can pump out 200FPS in source games on highest.
Therefore you have nothing to worry about, in fact That setup could probably get high fps in most other games, source is getting a little old besides.

I have 20/15 and I can't see much difference.
Yes there is a difference, but it's not something that makes you go "Oh yeah I can see that's at 60fps" or "Oh that's 97fps I see".

Yeah, I have 20/5 and I can only tell the difference when theres a 60hz and 120hz monitor side by side.
fuck you guys I have 20/120 :saddowns:

The screen'll show a framerate higher than 60 alright. But image tearing will occur.

Where the fuck did you get that I'm making an alienware build?

Where did I say I was actually BUYING it? I was customizing one for shits and giggles and found you could get one with decent specs for $1350. Just go troll somewhere else.

Same here :saddowns:
Sounds like you guys need some glasses.
:downs:
I would personally recommend a 260 gtx. I just got one after I heard my friend have a lot of problems with his SLI cards. Its a single card and does the job. It is also about the same price as getting two 5670.

two benchmarks on the same engine? that's not very helpful..
I wouldn't go for two 5670s, there are better buys out there right now

he's not trolling. And from what it looks like, you are in the wrong, not him. But you cleared that up... that still doesn't make him a troll
