huh, you dont have a brother called david do you? anyway that was really really gay and so is your emo hair
well the fact that you were more arsed about my looks than the song shows how pathetic your life must be.
not really that is one of the most covered and over used songs. ok your voice is good for that type of music. but for the love of god sort your hair out
is that autotune? please tell me it isn't
theres a formant on it... but no autotune... i despise autotune... my tutor asked the same thing aswell.. its cause theres so much high end and because ive got Perfect Pitch Hearing that my vocals can change notes instantly making the high end and formant sound like autotune... the rest of the songs have autotune on cause i was bored shitless :P x [editline]10:42PM[/editline] oh and theres a bit of chorus on the vocals aswell so that might not help either
Sounded like autotune to me... real fucking lame song btw. but when it comes to a voice being "good" I think you could have one... I don't really know what most people would consider to be a good voice.
You raaaaaaaise me up so i can stand on mountains!!!!!!!! This song is cheesy OH OH! This is that dude that kept putting "X" at the end of his posts! [editline]06:16PM[/editline] oh he did it at the end of his posts in this thread too..
Its a north east thing... most lads do it more than lasses! We are the Emo/Scene capital of England
Its a north east thing... most lads do it more than lasses! We are the Emo/Scene capital of England
That's not something to be proud of...
Im proud of where I come from...
its not where you come from its that you call yourself emo and are proud of it
its not where you come from its that you call yourself emo and are proud of it
Exactly

What's formant, in layman's terms?
Its hard to explain what formant is... it is used in autotune Plugins except during college we were learning how to program our own plugins so I rebuilt a formant effect and took the disc home and installed it :) . i like it ... and i dont call myself emo but i have a similar style to that of an emo/scene kid.
it might as well be autotune for people that are too "non-conformist" to use it but still want to sound like owl city
The voice doesn't sound that bad, but the autotune effect is very noticeable, it kinda ruins it.

There's audible difference between true formant, and formant that has been shifted due to pitch correction, and I can hear it- despite with the low quality on myspace. Also, the mixture of adding reverberation and delay really makes it stand out. I've been doing mixing and mastering for Tooth&Nail records and other minor labels in my area, and I will admit that I use pitch correction whether it's requested or not, because even the most experienced vocalist can never maintain an absolute note without phasing out 5 cents either during, just before, or just after the note has been sung. And unfortunately, it's the musicians/bands that stand out the most (radio play wise) when autotune has been applied even in the most subtle sense. Despite it all, you have a beautiful vocal tonality and you should exploit it further. I may have something for you if you're interested in tracking vocals any time in the near future.
Way too much autotune to brag about. [editline]01:00AM[/editline] Sadly, because I have a feeling you might have a good voice.
I thought it sounded like autotune as well, but I'll take your word for it. What's formant, in layman's terms?
There are two very basic things that account for the differences in singing voices from person to person, that is- pitch and formant. Pitch is (as everyone knows) how high or low the voice IS in frequency. And formant is how the vocals resonate acoustically, and this is what separates each singer from sounding different. I'm sorry but I have perfect pitch as well and I can't sing for shit.
I'm 100% sure you used autotune. don't lie
