Free server transfers pls. If I pay $15/month I at least expect to be able to play it whenever.
Make endgame less grindy too. I know hardcore people complained earlier expansions they didn't have enough to do, but for a casual player like me with all of the dailies and stuff it's impossible for me to get more than one level 90 decently geared.
They kinda ruined it by making it hella easy to 'grind'.
No offense to WoW players here, but I guess even sheep get bored eventually. My brother, who was playing almost 8 years, stopped renewing his subscription back in December after completing everything that was available at the time. I saw it as a sign if HE got bored with it.
Doesn't help their case that they release small chunks of content every 3-6 months, after paying $50 for an expansion pack that initially barely adds anything. Seriously, I've played F2P games that took longer to add content, yet the resulting content was more substantial.
rip warriors
i want wrath warriors back :(
It's been 9 years. WOW is lucky that anyone is still playing it, let alone more than 8 million people.
Barely a handful of games can claim that people still want to play their multiplayer after nearly a decade.
mists was kinda their last ditch effort to revitalize the game, i mean for years they said no pandas will ever appear in WoW, then they gave in and made pandas to try to attract new people
Maybe people are just getting tired of playing the same dated game for 9 years?
this can only be a good thing, once WoW dies devs will see that the formula has finally been completely milked dry and we might see some actual innovation in the MMO space
fuck me, imagine the cash cow WoW is, jesus - 8-11 million people paying $15 a month for 9 years? That's about 15 billion dollars in takings

Wow your brother played the game for 8 years and it seems like you didn't even manage to learn a single fucking thing about the game the whole time, bravo!
"Even the sheep get bored eventually"
Get over yourself. The game has been more successful than any MMO to date and it's made billions of dollars not to mention it being out since what, 2004? Has any game ever had a playerbase as big as WoW's, let alone for almost 10 years straight?
I don't understand the anti-WoW bandwagon. Sure the game has problems but people find every reason to hate the game, even ones that don't exist.
Damn, 9 years? That's actually amazing for an MMO. WoW played a big part of my life back in 2005. It was probably one of the first Multiplayer games I've ever played. I remember making my first Undead priest and accidentally walking into the Western Plaguelands at level 5. Then I got my ass kicked by worms.
Good times.
Mists last expansion for me more then likely, was getting bored in Cata and am now in MoP, raiding just becomes a chore or might just go casual and do LFR next expansion
Wow, calm down won't you?
The other guy goes into a thread about WoW, calls its users sheep, criticizes its updates, and yet the guy who says that WoW has been the most successful MMO since 2004 needs to calm down?

Like I said.

Sounds like someone never had great experiences in WoW and was well worth the time playing.
How does it feel knowing you never raided with your best friends in karazhan and ganked like bros?

then add in the people who have multiple accounts, people paying for server transfers, name changes etc, and people buying their merchandise
hnnnngggggg

Geez, forgot that stating an opinion in certain cases can get a knife to your throat. Sorry for the sheep comment, that WAS out of line. Not editing it out though as the damage is done and removing it would make me seem like a bigger ass.
For the record, my brother DID regularly raid, PvP and all that stuff.
Even though I am a WoW player I imagine this trend continuing slowly over the next four years and reaching a steady level of 6-7 million players before blizzard shuts it down. If they were quicker with content patches it could alleviate it but once you hit the brick wall on whatever patch you're on its the same old game as it was any content patch before.

don't think anybody's going to take your opinion seriously when you unironically call wow players "sheep."
The game has to end sometime.
I don't dislike the game itself, having no experience with it thus making disliking it be unfounded and stupid, but I dislike its effects on the genre and the fact that nearly every MMO copies it and then wonders why nobody wants to play their game.
I don't like hotkeys and ability bars. I like actual gameplay.

Walking into WPL as undead is like walking into Duskwood as a Human.
A Common ritual of the newbie.

It's not WoW's fault, it's a combination of MMO developers and the people that play them. Different types of MMO games come out semi-frequently but bomb and go F2P or just die because no one is really interested in them, while the most popular ones like Rift, SWTOR, and GW2 are blatantly inspired by WoW and it's designs. There are plenty of options out there for people who don't want to play hotkey based theme park games, just not enough marketing or too much of niche appeal to gain a following.
MMO communities are literally the worst
MMO communities are literally the worst
I have come across people who are literally crazy, like "why the fuck do they think like that" kind of people, especially in WoW; it's a fucking cesspool of weirdos and crazies
[editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
and yet I can't stop playing wow sob
MMO communities are literally the worst
Not really, the realm I played on in vanilla and TBC in WoW had a great community.
Only time people would get angry and get all sassy is if you were awful in long dungeons/raids because they are long as fuck and 1 person can wipe everyone.
But they have gone really fucking down hill since then and WoW is now a cesspool.
honestly WC3 set up WoW, but after Wrath, we've wrapped up all the stuff from WC3, for me the pinical of the game was killing arthas, after that cataclysm felt kinda....meh, i loved the firelands, but nobody played it after the next raid came out, not like ulduar from wrath, and the high level zones in cat felt not really connected like the zones in Wrath were, and there wasn't much to see in them. plus they destroyed marshal's refuge and linken, muigi, lario, and dadanga for no reason, some of the classic stuff about the game felt refreshing to change in cata, but there were places that never felt stale and old like how they removed southmill from the game, that used to be a major ganking place or how they ripped the barens in half
im having more fun in mists than i did in cata or wrath solely BECAUSE the game is easier. people who have other shit to do can appreciate how much content they can access that they couldnt before due to tedious geargrind ala diablo 3.
