I bought a graphics card but just want to know if it's good.

It's a PNY XLR8 with a 9800gt and 1 gig.

It's decent should run most games on high.
Yep, it's good but a little old
How much did you spend on it?
because asking after you bought it a great idea
9800GTs are still getting it done. It depends on the game and resolution/settings of course, but that is a full on gaming card, not some mainstream low budget card.
110$

:downsbravo:
I only asked because I can still return it.
Ok, return it.
Get a 5770.

$20 more than the one you have now after rebate
Under $ 100 it's a decent purchase. I'd return it. Usually you can pick up a 4850 for $100. That's a better deal all around.
Return it and get a 4850
9800 GTs are nice. I would keep it. What's the point of returning it for a barely noticable difference?
Well, I now have a 9500gt, is it a huge improvement? I'm not going to be playing Crysis.

do that, no questions asked

That's a good question. He is moving up from a 9500GT, a 9800GT is a frickin' HUGE upgrade.
Going to the trouble of returning the card for the sake of saving 10 dollars or so might not be worth it. Depending on the rest of his system, he may see little to no difference in performance between the 9800GT he has now vs a 4850 if he was to return it and buy the 4850.
The 4850 is better. He will end up playing games that need more than a 9800. It is worth it, you don't go buying something that is not worth the money, or when something $10 less is better.
110$
And where did you buy the card from? Best Buy?

140 - 110 = 20

My point is, assuming the perfomance difference between the cards is small, is it worth your time to go to that trouble for $10? The gasoline alone, to drive to and from the store, is going to eat up a chunk of that savings.
For a gamer used to a 9500GT, what game is out there that runs great on a 4850 that runs badly on a 9800GT?

This. Do I smell ATI fanboyism?

I don't.

I thought he was talking about the post he was replying to.
In the future, ask before buying, you usually can get more bang for buck that way.
But the 9800GT is still a great card for a mid-end gaming machine.

I must have been unclear: I was saying that I don't think there is a big enough gain in performance of going with a 4850 to make it worth his time taking back the card he already has(the 9800GT). I was advising keeping the 9800GT. How is that ATI fanboyism?
My first post suggested taking it back, but that's before I was reminded of the small performance differences involved here.

Not fanboyism from you, just people saying to get the $10 difference to buy an ATI card instead. T'was me who was unclear
Sold mine for $60.
