• A Biology or History degree?

Hey FP, I'm about to apply for university and I'm looking to either do a History course or a Biology course and cannot seem to make up my mind. I really enjoy both, however did slightly better at AS level in Biology than I did in History. I only do the one science, so applying at some universities may be difficult, as most of the time they prefer it if you have maths, physics or chemistry as well. I'm trying to think about what a degree in either of them will achieve me in the long run. I've asked about and looked at statistics, and it seems that Biology opens more doors. But like I say, it may be more difficult for me to do having only the one science, and history is something that I've always loved. Do any of you guys have degrees/are studying either of them? I'd love some advice, cheers.
it's generally the case that math/science degrees will, in the long run, be more beneficial than others, except for good technical expertise(like oil rig workers, though life expectancy isnt that great) or business(depends on your luck) though biology and history seem to employ the same memorization skills, so it's really a decision for yourself. i'd go with bio, though
As a graduate (from Canada) with a double major in History and Political Science, I can say only do a history degree if: A) You want to join law enforcement or government B) You want to join the military C) Are open to the idea of eventually doing a Masters (Graduate school) If you want to just do a Bachelor's degree and be done with it, Biology is a better bet.
History isn't what it used to be
