• Full-length videos in advertisements; Starting to irritate me

Not too sure how many of you have been seeing these, considering that I know quite a few people here use AdBlock and Flashblock. The last couple of weeks, I've been seeing these pop up, from time to time. Full videos jammed into ad-spaces on various websites, advertising various random crap I'd never buy. Not banners or crappy flash games, Full length videos. Of course, under normal circumstances I'd just add the source to my block list, but that doesn't seem to work for these. Not even blocking the entire frame seems to work. What's more frustrating is that most of them have no controls at all, so I'd be reading an article or something or watching another video and suddenly get an entire earful of a commercial for Tide Bleach being broadcast at the very bottom of the page in a corner somewhere, with no way to stop the video or even mute it without pressing the master mute on my keyboard. Even more frustrating is when I'm watching a streaming video in another tab or window and the stream slows to a crawl or stops altogether to load the ad video. Of course, I've seen these only a handful of times so fare but I'm seeing them more and more with each passing day. So I'm wondering if anyone else on Facepunch has seen them with any frequency, and if they'd have any good ideas on how to get rid of them or at least block them. Edit: Fiddled with some of the settings in Flashblock, works perfectly now.
The best part is how much louder the ads are compared to whatever it is you're streaming.
There is a plugin for adblock that blocks windows look it up it might help.
There is a plugin for adblock that blocks windows look it up it might help.
A plugin for a plugin. Fantastic. I'll look it up in a little while.
Tech support?
That's advertising for ya.
What the hell is the logic behind doing that? If people aren't buying, how likely are they going to buy your product now that it's been blasted into their face to the point where people now use AdBlock software because of it. Advertisers are really thick lately.

I've noticed more of them cropping up lately, most of the ones I get are for heartburn medication and cillit bang.
New Vegas Nexus likes these. Browsing for mods there I've managed the feat of getting five video ads to load simultaneously, blasting my ears with a beautifully agonizing cacophony of pain. :v:

I don't know how I could survive without Adblock Plus nowadays.

I've been more annoyed at Pandora ads recently. Yeah, they've been this way for a while but I ain't buying no fucking valentines' chocolates from walmart so fuck you walmart and let me listen to my swing music
There's only one thing in this world that I simply cannot tolerate regardless of the circumstances, and that's advertising. Unless it's entertaining I don't even want to glance at them or hear them.
I remember I once got an obnoxious advert for advert blocking software.
The best part is how much louder the ads are compared to whatever it is you're streaming.
Or that you can't change to volume or pause it. Some times refreshing the page will skip those ads on youtube.
Reminds me of those bloody "FIESTA" commercials. Apparently it's an internet game, and the bloody adds play music!
The best part is how much louder the ads are compared to whatever it is you're streaming.
Same thing on TV. Especially when watching old movies where the sounds aren't compressed like nowadays.
