Sedgwick County, Kan., emergency management director Randy Duncan says officials are "very grateful" about the few reports of damage from the tornado that touched down near Wichita Mid-Continent Airport shortly before 4 p.m. CDT Sunday.
Tornado sirens just came on a couple minutes ago. I'm gonna' go kick that thing's ass.
snip - not post worthy, sorry D:
Tornado warning just activated for the county next to me and I hear sirens.
I actually find tornadoes beautiful but scary at the same time
Oh, tornado season came! How unexpected!
My county hasn't had any warnings yet but adjoining ones have so we're keeping watch. My mom told me the story about how once in like 1994 or so my dad and his coworker Mike watched one tear up a burger lot across the street while everyone else at his work was in the back praying for dear life.
Must suck living somewhere that gets destroyed every few years.
Must suck living somewhere that gets destroyed every few years.
it does [editline]19th May 2013[/editline] trust me
I was going to post about this but then the power kicked out, We had no power for around like 3-4 hours. So thanks.
Yup, Tornado season has started. I can tell by how the weather has been nice the last few days in Ohio. That means we are going to get a huge fucking storm, if the last few months are anything to go by.

Reporting here from Atlanta, GA. We've had on and off storms with flooding in some areas with minor wind damage.
I think i'm lucky here, northern Missouri, and we haven't had a tornado actually hit the town since 1970. Probably has something to do with all the hills.
A year or two ago, a tornado tried forming in front of my college. It was pretty cool, it went racing across the parking lot. I might be weird, but I absolutely enjoy tornado season. I hope I get some good storms where I'm at.

Indianapolis seems like the one safe place from tornadoes, being a "big" city and all.

[t]https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ9meM8nWmB9ILVpTa-eY59yo002Ucdonb_9TfvJQdXScSJgep1[/t] behold the new house of the midwest! but seriously id spend the money to build a house underground out there, sure the roof may be ripped off, but the walls cant go anywhere
I genuinely forgot tornadoes even existed until I saw this post.
Ohio pals!
hell ya, we got fields and fields, but tornados? naa those are rare, the weather changes too fast for them to form [editline]19th May 2013[/editline] what i don't get is why the midwest doesn't just make its stuff stupidly impenatrable to tornados, if your town has been knocked over 5 times, STOP BUILDING THE SAME DAMN BUILDINGS, build like bunkers or stuff underground, it can't be too hard or expensive considering you won't need to rebuild every 2 years
