So my skateboard just snapped in half, it was a shitty old junker anyways, but the good news is soon I'm getting a paycheck, so I wanted to ask you guys what I should do.
A. Buy another skateboard and continue, I'm pretty good at it, I'd being getting a high end one (Element board, shake junt bearings, venture trucks, bones wheels) $170
B. Experiment and buy a longboard to see how I like it, It would be also the best I could find in store which is a dope bob marley one (65mm, ABEC 7, 38.5" L x 9.25" W x 27.0" WB) $250
I live in a typical city, long backstreets, but barley any hills, It doesn't specifically accommodate either and I'm split on what to do, so I'm asking your opinion, thanks!
I would personally go for the long board, you can have huge fun at high speed. Even without hills, you can customize a board to respond to even the slightest downhill slope. Carving around street corners with sliding gloves is so much fun. And its a good way to get around town if you like the outdoors. overall long boards are a slightly less pain full way to go, and still good fun.
Kinda agree with xgman, but since you already have some skills with the original skateboard i think you should go with that. You can do the same things on the skateboard to.
I heard long boards are more fun.
So what do you guys think is the difference between a high tier skateboard and a regular longboard for just cruising? Cause If I could cruise and do tricks, I'd go for the skateboard
Skateboard has less momentum due to the low mechincal advantage of it, which is pretty much just me saying the wheels are smaller, you'll need more force to get anywhere with it. Especially if you live in a gravel-y, choppy, rough paved area. You'll find yourself pushing and exerting alot more effort into cruising on a skateboard, whereas one or two good pushes will take you far on a longboard. Get a good longboard. Then get a skateboard later if you wanna do tricks. I usually ride on my longboard with my skatebaord strapped to my backpack when i go searching for spots.
get a fucking shortboard
Hm.. The thing is when I skate though I'm usually not about point a to b (I use a bike) instead I go to my freinds hangout which is a large paved area where we just hang out, skate, and buy food or stuff to make our own fun (like capgun wars) from the near stores, its really awesome and chill. But then our city has some paved trails. god dammit im so undecided
longboard
Longboarding is better imo. It's people are way more chill. (Skateboarders are not chill at all though, Longboarders are like super chill all the time) Longboarding you can do a bunch of shit with, such as downhill, racing, just cruising around sliding, tricks. Not just tricks on a skateboard.
So if I buy a longboard I can only get this

or this

So these vs Element canada ashburry deck, venture trucks, bones stf wheels, shake junt bearings
I like the Barrel better.
Longboard = High speed awesome shit.
Skateboard = Extreme flips and shit.
