Whedon, who wrote and directed last year’s Marvel’s The Avengers in which Coulson was killed, directed and co-wrote the pilot episode along with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, his collaborators from both Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and the short-lived Dollhouse series; the two will act as showrunners for the new series.
http://www.wired.com/underwire/2013/05/agents-shield-tv-series/
Will this include all of SHIELD like the helicarrier and guests like Samuel l Jackson and some of the other heroes? (Probably not enough money for that)
I still want to know how they'll explain [SP]Coulson somehow being alive again.[/SP]
Pre-Avengers storyline
Pre-Avengers storyline
I'm pretty sure it was heavily hinted that Coulson wan't actually dead.
I still want to know how they'll explain [SP]Coulson somehow being alive again.[/SP]
Extremis
IMO Fury faked Coulson's death to bring the team together over the bloody cards. Not really spoilers as the film has been out for over a year..
IMO Fury faked Coulson's death to bring the team together over the bloody cards. Not really spoilers as the film has been out for over a year..
Fury only faked the location of Coulson's trading cards, he didn't fake the death. Nobody questions that Coulson died, the only objection raised about that scene is that Coulson kept his cards in his locker/room on board the ship, and Fury lied that he had them on his person in order to bring the team together. If I recall correctly, Coulson got stabbed in the heart by Loki. There's no faking a death like that.

Well this looks like it's going to be pr-CANCELLED
Well looks like they have the people from the short that came with the Avengers DVD too.
This show might be fun. Phil Coulson owns.

Also, its implied that he did survive, its just that Fury didnt tell anyone, and that Stark may have figured it out considering later when he mentions a list of people Loki pissed off, he mentions Phil, but uses "His name is" instead of "was"
Joss Whedon? oh man nice im looking forward to this
Kinda disappointed Cobie Smulders isn't in it.
I hope this doesn't go the way of Firefly and get cancelled after 1 season
I hope this doesn't go the way of Firefly and get cancelled after 1 season
Well if the show sucks then I hope it gets canceled.
and that Stark may have figured it out considering later when he mentions a list of people Loki pissed off, he mentions Phil, but uses "His name is" instead of "was"
That's probably being a bit pedantic, extrapolating and interpreting a small quip like that is just speculating, he was saying it as if he was still alive and pissed off As for "life model decoys", the only time we hear about one of those is when Tony's fooling around at the beginning and it doesn't get any more in depth than that. I didn't think androids could bleed from the mouth, anyway As far as we know as of now, Loki stabbed Coulson through the back and he clearly stopped breathing and died at Fury's side without blatant hints that he survived or used a double, and now he's back in this new post-Avengers show, so it should all become clear Or what if Coulson in this show [sp]is a decoy[/sp]
Well if the show sucks then I hope it gets canceled.
Except Firefly was good...?
Not enough people in suits.
I don't have a good feeling this will last. How will it work out?
Except Firefly was good...?
I don't know why you're pointing out the obvious.
Oh my fuck I'm hyped as shit
I still want to know how they'll explain [SP]Coulson somehow being alive again.[/SP]
[sp]There was no real pronouncing of his death in The Avengers. We see him pass out, and Fury tells the other staff not to come down. He could have easily faked his death to give the Avengers the push they needed. That's my theory, anyway.[/sp] They have a CoulsonLives hashtag going on as promotional material, and there was a big "COULSON LIVES" pronunciation when they announced plans for Agents of SHIELD a while ago. Also as people said before, Life-Model Decoys were mentioned as a joke by Tony early in The Avengers.
I'm guessing this will be like 24 or CSI, but in the Marvel universe.
Unfortunately it's ABC so it will go 3 episodes and they'll cancel it
Gizmodo456 is correct, Josse Whedon has said in an interview (i think on io9) that Fury faked Coulson's death to bring the Avengers together.
he's alive
tupac isn't dead either
Gizmodo456 is correct, Josse Whedon has said in an interview (i think on io9) that Fury faked Coulson's death to bring the Avengers together.
He said that if the show is picked up, Fury faked Coulson's dead. If not, Coulson died. I remember reading it on io9 as well.
Even though Disney owns both Marvel and ABC(and therefore will probably heavily hype this and such), I'll give it like 6 episodes before its cancelled and replaced with "Extreme Celebrity Knitting" or some other "reality" competition they filmed in an afternoon. Yeah, its not something that interests me, but the example I gave seems to be whats been happening with TV in general recently.
