Atmos seems like a rather un-necessary thing to license out for what amounts to them saying "we're going to have reasonably good 3D audio". Multichannel setups beyond stereo on PC are extremely rare, so addition of the scaling/mixing capbilities of atmos make little sense IMO. Is kinda incredible how little industry focus 3D audio has gotten ever since creative canned A3D
