How the fuck does wrapping electronics with towels help in any way
its supposed to melt the solder back together or somting and i want to get the three rings so i wont have to pay 100 dollars for the fix of two
its supposed to melt the solder back together or somting and i want to get the three rings so i wont have to pay 100 dollars for the fix of two
Then do the towel trick if you don't want to pay and get better ventilation for the 360.
2 red rings just means overheated, if you let it cool down it it will sort itself, either that or it will either go to 1 red ring or 3. [editline]01:11AM[/editline] and DO NOT do the towel trick, it can fuck up a lot of components on the inside. Trust me i fix these things for a living.
Take it somewhere that isn't a carpet or closed space. Shit needs air cool itself.
It's just overheated, let it cool down and then post in here if it has jumped to 1 or 3 rings, i will give you a hand sorting it
Then do the towel trick if you don't want to pay and get better ventilation for the 360.
Read the post, i did do the towel trick [editline]12:23AM[/editline]
It's just overheated, let it cool down and then post in here if it has jumped to 1 or 3 rings, i will give you a hand sorting it
Monday it did it and i quit playing it for like 3 hours, got back on and I got the 2 rings within about 15 mins
Don't tell me I didn't tell you so. /PS3
Don't tell me I didn't tell you so. /PS3
get out.
Don't tell me I didn't tell you so. /PS3
No, PC is what is the best. Never RRODs and they have fucking diagnostic programs that tells you exactly what is wrong.
No, PC is what is the best. Never RRODs and they have fucking diagnostic programs that tells you exactly what is wrong.
BSOD doesn't tell me jack squat
If you get a BSOD you restart the computer and everything is fine, if you get a RROD you are fucked. See the difference?
If you get a BSOD you restart the computer and everything is fine, if you get a RROD you are fucked. See the difference?
Or put it this way BSOD = Bee Sting RROD = Cancer
If your 360 has the RROD it means that the X-Plate has loosend from the CPU causing the console to rapidly overheat (microsoft fail at hardware) So you'll either have to open the console and tighten the X-Plate back down or you could try the towel trick, however the towel trick may make things worse and damage everything else in the system. Even the latest 360's suffer from this and i'm suprised Microsoft haven't been sued into hell for it, it's such an easy to fix problem on their end but they seem to be too lazy and penny pinching to get it done.
Or put it this way BSOD = Bee Sting RROD = Cancer
What if you are allergic to bees? WHAT HAPPENS THEN!?
What if you are allergic to bees? WHAT HAPPENS THEN!?
But what are the chances? Too bad, I'd say.
Don't tell me I didn't tell you so. /PS3
Oh yeah and like PS3 is any better with it's Yellow Light of Death. True that it is a rarer occurance but it still happens
Plus a RROD is much more interesting to look at than a boring old yellow LED :)
Why the hell would Microsoft even ship a console that brakes like every year? Why didn't they just fix it before they shipped it?
Since when does it cost $100 to fix it? I thought it was free before? Seems like Microsoft is making a fuckton off of their 'mistake'. EDIT: By that, I mean, they'd rather make you pay to fix their problem than fix the problem after the first few cases.
Why the hell would Microsoft even ship a console that brakes like every year? Why didn't they just fix it before they shipped it?
Because it's a flaw in the design and it would cost more to/they aren't willing to redesign the SKU.
What really is strange is that the warrenty for it started in like 07 i bought mine at the end of 08 almost 09. Anyways back to thread.
Because it's a flaw in the design and it would cost more to/they aren't willing to redesign the SKU.
Newer ones are much less faulty. Also, I've had mine for years and have never had a problem.
BSOD doesn't tell me jack squat
Actually it tells you at the top generally.
Just call them, say it had 3 red rings, they won't even check. That's how I got my dvd drive replaced.
It really frustrates me how you refer to each segment as it's own distinct ring. A ring is a full circle, not a quarter circle.
Use the towel method get it working for a bit then take it to Gamestop and trade it and get a new Arcade and slap your old hard drive on it Worked like a charm for me :)
